Families across the Liverpool City Region are invited to attend Little Smiles For Everyone at Liverpool Central Library, a free sensory-friendly fun day taking place during the Easter school holidays.
This event offers the perfect opportunity for children to enjoy an activity that is both engaging and educational in a relaxed setting.
Developed in collaboration with local partners, including Liverpool City Council and the University of Liverpool, the initiative focuses on helping families build confidence around oral health with supervised toothbrushing while keeping children entertained through play, exploration, and learning.
The event designers specifically prioritised children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) by creating an environment that features sensory-friendly activities and a calm, inclusive atmosphere.
However, Little Smiles For Everyone remains open to all children and families, and the organisers warmly encourage everyone to attend.
The fun takes place on Thursday, 2 April 2026, from 11 am to 3 pm, in the Children’s Room at Liverpool Central Library.
Families are welcome to drop in at any time, making it a flexible and accessible choice for those looking for productive things to do with their children during the holiday break.
Interactive Dental Education and Sensory Activities in Liverpool
The day features a variety of hands-on activities, including practical toothbrushing tips and demonstrations that offer simple advice for supporting healthy habits at home.
Dental professionals will be on hand to provide personalised oral health advice in an informal and friendly manner.
Children can also explore sensory-friendly games and interactive learning stations designed to maintain high levels of engagement.
To help continue the progress made during the event, families can collect take-home toothbrush packs containing essential resources and information.
By combining these activities with professional support, the event aims to reduce anxiety around dental care and build healthy routines in a positive way.
Building a Lasting Community Legacy for Children’s Health
This initiative forms part of a wider community legacy programme driven by the European Association of Paediatric Dentistry Congress, which takes place at ACC Liverpool in July 2026.
This major international event brings together paediatric dental professionals, researchers, and educators from across the globe to share best practices for improving children’s oral health.
The Congress is committed to creating a lasting impact beyond the conference itself by supporting community-led projects that benefit families throughout the region.
A strong network of local organisations supports the Little Smiles project, including ACC Liverpool, the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry, Public Health Liverpool, and the Liverpool City Council Neighbourhood Team.
Additional support comes from the LFC Foundation, Everton in the Community, and Alder Hey Children’s Charity, ensuring the event reaches as many people as possible.
This collaborative effort ensures that families have access to high-quality health education in a space that feels safe, welcoming, and fun for those little ones to have a ball!
