Woodlands Hospice Charitable Trust is an independent registered charity (Registered Charity Number 1048934) which was set up in 1991 in order to raise the funds necessary to build and run Woodlands Hospice. In 1996 the hospice opened its doors and continues to this day to provide care and support to those with life limiting illnesses.
Woodlands hospice has to raise more than £3500 every day to ensure that all services and facilities remain free of charge to patients and their families. There are many ways you can support the hospice, such as ‘The Woodlands Hospice Lottery’
The Woodlands Hospice Lottery plays a vital part in their fundraising with all profits from the lottery going directly to the Hospice. The lottery costs just £1 a week. Your £1 really can make a difference to the lives of patients and their loved ones. Once registered, you will be sent your own unique number which will be entered into the draw each week. The lottery computer randomly chooses nine winners every Friday with top first prize being a whopping £500.
The Trust was set up as a direct response to the needs of local people living with cancer. The experiences of General Practitioners, Macmillan nurses and hospital staff identified the need for a facility for the care and support of those with life-threatening illnesses in North Liverpool.
