Now the clocks have gone back and the nights are getting longer, there’s no better place to get cosy and snug than Ma Boyle’s Alehouse and Eatery and Jazz Saturdays.
Each weekend, a vibrantly kaleidoscopic range of jazz sounds grace the iconic Liverpool venue, infused with and inspired by the magic of New Orleans and Brazilian beats to the simmering back streets of Paris.
The Parrjazz team continue to book a spectrum of innovators, stars and collectives who have made Saturday nights their own in the city. And to see out 2023, November and December’s dates feature an array of talent with some new faces and old friends returning, including Neil Yates, Perri Alleyne-Hughes Ensemble, Blind Monk, Dean Masser, Frank Griffiths and Cuba Vida and as always, all shows are free to attend.
Ma Boyle’s founder Iain Hoskins says:
“Jazz Saturdays has built a wonderful and loyal following in Liverpool. Working with the team at Parrjazz, each weekend has seen amazing artists at Ma Boyle’s and our intimate venue is perfect for evenings of jazz-infused magic. The last two months of the year will take us all the way to Saturday 23rd December and Jazz Saturdays will be back on Saturday 20th January 2024. Myself and all the team are immensely proud of bringing these beautiful sounds to the city as Liverpool’s longest running weekly jazz night.”
Tucked away off Water Street and nestled by the beautiful St Nick’s church gardens, Ma Boyle’s has seen the city change all around it whilst staying true to its historic maritime roots. It caters for breakfast brunchers and liquid lunchers to brilliant bistro food with a wonderful range of drinks and irresistible cocktails and is a fabulous hideaway from the city’s hustle and bustle.
All Jazz Saturdays events are completely free and start at 8.30pm – table can be reserved here.
