The Hot Water Comedy Club secured a major victory at the 2026 Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards, taking home the title of Entertainment Venue of the Year.
The ceremony, held at Liverpool Cathedral on 5 March, celebrated the businesses and individuals that define the region’s world-class visitor economy.
Hot Water Comedy Club earned the accolade after rising to the top in a highly competitive category, reinforcing its status as a premier destination for live performance.
Bill Addy, Chief Executive of Liverpool BID Company and headline sponsor, praised the evening’s winners, stating:
“This is an evening that always showcases the very best of Liverpool, from our embrace of innovation to our warm welcome to all visitors.
“This has been such a special year for an industry that is such a vital part of our visitor economy.”
He added:
“We work tirelessly to support the industry, and we have invested significantly over the past two years, particularly through the Accommodation BID, on attracting more spectacular events to Liverpool to boost the hospitality sector.”

The night also highlighted the growth of the region’s hospitality sector, with The Municipal Hotel & Spa – MGallery Liverpool named Large Hotel of the Year.
The venue’s success was shared by its staff, as Abigail Royle won Tourism Young Person of the Year. The awards served to demonstrate a sector delivering consistency, innovation, and a world-class visitor experience.
As Hot Water Comedy Club continues to draw thousands of comedy fans to the city, its recognition at the Tourism Awards underscores the importance of entertainment venues in maintaining the region’s thriving independent scene.
