All-female improvised musical comedy show Glamazon Prime is heading to Shakespeare North Playhouse later this month for a performance where the audience helps decide what happens on stage.
The company will appear at the Prescot theatre on Saturday 22 August, creating an entirely original musical live in front of the audience without a script.
Each performance begins with a single film suggestion from the crowd, which the cast then transforms into a new musical complete with original songs, harmonies, choreography, characters and unexpected plot twists.
Described by the company as “movie night, but with 100% more harmonies, 99% more women, and less Jeff Bezos”, no two performances are the same.
Glamazon Prime is the spiritual successor to award-winning improvised show NOTFLIX, which has entertained audiences across the UK.
Performances involving the company have featured on BBC Radio 5 Live, Sky News and STV, while its previous appearances include sold-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe, Soho Theatre, VAULT Festival and Southwark Playhouse, as well as venues around the country.
The rotating Glamazon Prime cast brings together improvisers and musical theatre performers whose professional credits span the BBC, Comedy Central, Netflix, National Theatre of Wales, Lyric Theatre Belfast, Barbican, Hackney Empire, The Rose Playhouse, Volcano Theatre and video game Baldur’s Gate 3.
Members of the company also have improvisation credits including Showstopper!, Impromptu Shakespeare, The Bean Spillers and Hoopla.

One audience might choose a Hollywood blockbuster, the next an animated classic or an unexpected cult favourite—but whatever they choose becomes a brand-new musical created entirely in the moment. It’s joyful, chaotic, and unlike anything else you’ll see on stage.”
The show is aimed at musical theatre and comedy fans, combining quick-thinking performances with live music, harmonies and unpredictable storytelling.
