SERIES TWO – EDITION FOURTEEN
In series two – edition fourteen of our Faces of Liverpool series we caught up with Jessica Slack, aged 26 from West Kirby; an Abstract Artist.
What do you love about Liverpool?
Liverpool has such a buzzing atmosphere full of creative and really friendly people! The Liverpool community has been so supportive of my art journey, it’s such a wonderful city to grow in as an artist!
Name one main thing about living in Liverpool that makes you proud?
One thing? I’m struggling to narrow it down to three! The incredible music talent, the artistic culture and the wonderful people that make the city what it is!
If you could describe Liverpool in 3 words what would they be?
Vibrant, Creative, Friendly.
Name one place in Liverpool that holds a special place in your heart?
MerseyMade: Art studios, a shop and a café all rolled into one, what could get better than that? It’s where my art career began back in 2019 and the support from everyone there has been incredible. It will always be a very special place to me. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!
Is there anything on your ‘Bucket List’ to do in Liverpool that you’re still yet to achieve?
I would absolutely love my work to be exhibited in Tate Liverpool one day. How amazing would that be?! On a personal note, I’ve been meaning to go paddle-boarding through the docks for ages so I must do that very soon!
Do you have any tales of Liverpool or claim to fame while in the city?
You may have spotted lots of my murals around the city without even realising! Next time you spot one, send me a selfie!
Jess will be hosting an art exhibition on Saturday 14th August at Scale Liverpool 5pm-11pm, to attend the event REGISTER HERE
