Residents are being invited to a free community event aimed at raising awareness of memory problems and dementia, while connecting people with practical support, advice and local services.
The “Every Mind Matters” event will take place on Thursday, 21 May, from 10 am to 3 pm, at FireFit Hub, 115 Upper Warwick Street, Toxteth, Liverpool L8 8HD.
Organised by Liverpool Dementia Action Alliance in partnership with Liverpool City Council and local health and community organisations, the event is open to everyone.
It will provide a welcoming and informal space for people to learn more about dementia and what help is available for those who are worried about their memory, have a diagnosis of dementia, family carers or organisations.
Residents will have the opportunity to meet local organisations, speak with professionals and access information on a range of topics, including dementia support, health and wellbeing, community activities, benefits advice and legal guidance.
Encouraging Open Conversations to Reduce Memory Loss Stigma
The event is being delivered in partnership with Active Minds, Central Liverpool PCN, Chinese Wellbeing, Liverpool City Council Public Health, Liverpool Dementia Action Alliance, Smoke-Free Liverpool and Torus Foundation.
Refreshments will be available throughout the day. The event is free to attend and no booking is required.
The event aims to encourage open conversations around dementia, reduce stigma and help people access support early, whether for themselves, a family member or a friend.
