Everton is set to host trials at Goodison Park next month as part of its strategy to expand the girls’ Academy.
Players from across the region are invited to showcase their skills at the historic stadium, with the trial programme designed to identify those with the potential to join Everton’s Professional Game Academy for the upcoming season.
The trials are open to players aged between 14 and 18 and represent a first step on a potential pathway toward the Everton Women senior team.
Goodison Park became the permanent home of Everton Women last season, following the men’s team’s move to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
It remains the only dedicated women’s football stadium in the country and stands as a symbol of the club’s commitment to the women’s game.
A Tradition of Developing Elite Talent
Everton has a long-standing reputation for nurturing players who have progressed to the highest levels of professional football and international representation.
Notable graduates who have gone on to become Lionesses include Izzy Christiansen, Grace Clinton, Toni Duggan, Alex Greenwood, and Nikita Parris.
The current club captain and longest-serving player, Megan Finnigan, is also a product of the Blues’ Academy.
Everton Technical Director Nick Cox commented on the importance of the upcoming search:
“This city has a proud football heritage, and Everton has a long-standing reputation for developing elite-level players.
“These trials are part of our efforts to further increase opportunities in the Women’s game and ensure that proud tradition continues.
“Our focus is on strengthening our player pathway, broadening access at younger ages, enhancing development opportunities within the Academy, and creating a clearer route through to senior football.
“We want talented young players to see Everton as a place where they can grow, be challenged and fulfil their potential.”
Trial Dates and Application Process
The trial sessions will be led by qualified Everton coaches and will each last approximately two hours.
On Saturday 9 May, trials will take place between 1 pm and 6 pm BST.
A bespoke session specifically for goalkeepers will be held at the club’s training ground, Finch Farm, on Monday, 11 May.
Finally, on Saturday 16 May, trials will run between 4 pm and 8 pm BST, following immediately after Everton Women’s final fixture of the 2025/26 season against Leicester City.
All applications will be assessed by the coaching staff, and invited participants will be contacted directly during the week commencing 4 May.
Due to anticipated demand, not all applicants will be offered a trial.
Those wishing to be considered must complete the application form here before the deadline of 11.59 pm on Monday, 4 May.
