Liverpool pizzeria, Crazy Pedros have announced that a pizza from their menu will be used to support Walk For Wellbeing (previously known as Walk for Calm).
The pizza, Got The Muncheese, made with goats’ cheese, red onion marmalade, basil pesto and beef Monster Munch, is available on the Crazy Pedro’s menu now. For every sale of the pizza, £1 will be donated to Hospitality Action and Walk For Wellbeing.
Walk For Wellbeing is a fun, flexible event all about taking simple steps to promote wellbeing. Participants can treat each walk like a journey, as they spend time in the fresh air, moving and utilising their time to reflect and energise.
Walk For Wellbeing is powered by UK hospitality talent partner, mum, in partnership with Caterer.com, Davidson Asset Management (DAM) and The Caterer. The campaign is also supported by Sean Wheeler Consulting Limited, Lexington Catering, Tonic Talent, The Manchester Hoteliers Association and The Relationship.
Demand for Hospitality Action’s support is at an all-time high and a third of all the requests for financial assistance the charity currently receive are from people suffering from, or at risk of, poor mental health.
The nation is invited to put on their walking shoes and join a ‘take part any time’ challenge between October 8 – 16, encompassing World Mental Health Day 2022 on October 10.
Four hosted Walk For Wellbeing 20km events will take place in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow, on Sunday 16 October.
THE ROUTE:
The Manchester walk begins at Sale Water Park car park.
The route begins by heading around the lake and joining the River Mersey after 1.5km, before following the river bank to Chorlton Water Park. The walk then takes a circuit of this pretty and well known park before re-joining the River Mersey and continuing on to Didsbury. The halfway point is Fletcher Moss Park with its beautiful gardens, at which point the route will cross back over the river to follow on the other side back towards Sale Water Park. This walk is easy and over flat terrain, taking in two water parks, the River Mersey and sections of the Trans Pennine trail.
The walk will be hosted by Manchester Hotelier’s Association.
The event is accessible to all ages and abilities, regardless of fitness level. Walk For Wellbeing aims to raise funds and awareness for mental health. Participants are able to have fun whilst bringing awareness to an important issue.
Those looking to participate are able to do so in their own way, individually or as part of a group
by signing up via the Walk For Wellbeing website: https://walkforwellbeing.org/
Hospitality Action offer vital assistance to all who work or have worked within the UK hospitality sector. As the charity reach their 185th year, the goal is to recruit 185 individuals or teams nationwide to take part in our event this October.
Founder of hospitality talent partner, mum and Walk For Wellbeing, Craig Prentice, said:
“This year’s event is the perfect opportunity for people to show up and walk the walk across the UK. Sign up as an individual, or walk with family, friends, or work colleagues. Let’s make a difference together.”
Nick Coupland, Head of Marketing and Social Media for The Liars Group, said:
“We’re so excited to be using the Got The Muncheese pizza across our menus in support of Walk For Wellbeing. To be able to support Hospitality Action, who do great things for the people of the hospitality industry, is really important to us. The Crazy Pedro’s team are getting ready to put on their walking shoes on 16th October to spread the word about the fantastic work done by Hospitality Action, but in the meantime, come and grab a slice and show some support.”
