Following the huge success of the Summer and Christmas markets in 2022 and 2023, The Art Quarter Liverpool Market will return this summer at the Metquarter, supporting small businesses and local makers.

Taking place on Saturday 29 June between 11am – 5pm, shoppers will be able to explore a plethora of unique pieces from over 40 independent and local Liverpool artists including jewellery, tableware, ceramics, textiles, artwork, candles and much more.

The Art Quarter Summer Market will host stalls from original makers, artisans, and crafters including Lazykate Textiles, who returns to the markets to give customers the chance to try weaving on their big spinning wheel. The team will also sell a large selection of naturally hand dyed yarn and looms.

Customers looking for something nautical can head to Helen Parry at Mollusc by the Sea to discover intricate seaside nautical pieces with incredible detail creating atmospheric scenes of coastal life incorporating recycled wood, sea glass and  driftwood. Artist Barbara Tennant of Pebble Art Studio UK will have a range of beautiful, one-of-a-kind stunning framed pictures made from pebbles, driftwood, sea glass, dried leaves and flowers, all collected from local beaches.

The talented Rach at Bird House Press will offer a selection of cute and fun designs in keyrings, stickers, bobble hats, stationery just to name a few featuring unique, colourful and fun hand-drawn illustrations.

Other confirmed stallholders include creator of ‘Silly Little Pink Things’ Jade Muat Dodd, who will have lots of unusual and fun designs in homeware, jewellery and accessories on offer, and Cats Ceramics, who will sell high quality ceramics individually designed by Cat McShane including vases, candleholders and decorative ornaments made from a mixture of wheel thrown and hand built pottery.

Treat yourself or a friend with a visit to Doodlebugzz where owner Lesley Anna Scales will offer a beautiful range of bespoke handcrafted jewellery or visit Komerobi Designs to discover incredible clay creations created by Lenka Baricova.

Calling all dog lovers! Pawdrobe HQ will host a stall selling unique handmade designer pooch apparel designed and created by Jan Greatbanks for the best dressed dogs. Available in fun and funky or classic and elegant fabrics for dapper dogs.

Completely free to attend, The Art Quarter Summer Market will offer a full day of entertainment with live music and face painting for children also taking place throughout the day.

The market will also support two local charities on the day. Shoppers will have the chance to donate to Tom’s Charity, who raise money for children undergoing cancer treatment at Alder Hey Hospital and Metquarter’s official charity partner The Hope Foundation who provide help and support to the homeless and disadvantaged within Liverpool.

Karen Edwards, an artist at The Art Quarter Liverpool said:

“We can’t wait to welcome our makers once again. They have something for everyone, and our events show the people of Liverpool they can buy quality handmade products right on their doorstep. It’s a great way to spend the day, its free entry, you can shop, grab a bite to eat and just chill and enjoy the music!”

Jennina O’Neill, Metquarter Centre Manager said:

“Following the success of The Art Quarter markets over the last couple of years, we are delighted to welcome them back for a summer edition in a few week’s time. As a centre, we champion shopping small and the scheme is full of local independents so, whenever we have the chance to support more talented Liverpool makers and businesses, we jump at the chance! The markets are the perfect opportunity to discover new businesses and treat yourself or a loved one to a gift.”

The Art Quarter Summer Market is a free event and will take place at Metquarter on Saturday 29 June from 11am-5pm.
