Bowring Park is set to host its biggest Bank Holiday event to date on Monday 25 May, kicking off a full week of family-friendly half-term activities across the park.
The Bank Holiday Fun Day, running from 11 am to 3 pm, will feature a packed programme of live entertainment and family activities, building on the success of previous events which have seen growing numbers of visitors from across Knowsley choosing to spend time locally.
The day will include the return of the hugely popular K-pop performances alongside a Frozen-themed experience for children, as well as a DJ and live singers throughout the afternoon.
Families can also expect a wide range of activities across the park, including stalls, games, a BBQ and entertainment designed to create a full day out rather than a short visit.
A range of independent traders will be on site offering cakes, bakes and sweet treats, alongside other local businesses, while dog-friendly activities will also form part of the programme.
Huyton Historic Parkland Scales Up Community Entertainment Infrastructure
The expansion of the seasonal event framework marks a deliberate transition toward full-day recreational programming within the regional green space.
Oisin Hennessy, Project Lead at oneday, said:
“We’ve seen a big shift in how people are using the park over the last year, and each event is getting busier.
“This Bank Holiday is about taking that up another level, more going on, more to do, and more reasons for families to get out and spend the day here.”
The Bank Holiday event marks the start of a week-long half-term programme at Bowring Park, with activities taking place throughout the week for families and young people.
Half-Term Curriculum Combines Outdoor Sports with Family Culinary Workshops
The subsequent weekday schedule focuses on physical education and outdoor learning, utilising the parkland environment to host accessible activities during the school holiday.
These include football sessions for children, forest school experiences, family cooking workshops and a cocktail masterclass later in the week, alongside further events and activities across the site.
The programme has been designed to provide a mix of free and low-cost activities, with a focus on getting more people outdoors and making the most of the park during the school holidays.
Event details for all the half-term activities can be found here.
