This May half term, Bowring Park, Huyton, will become a hub of free family-friendly fun as it launches five days of outdoor activities, crafts, nature trails, and special guest appearances.
Running from 26th – 30th May, the week will feature a family sports day, a visit from a Disney Princess, face painters, free family cycling sessions with HYPE Merseyside, forest school adventures and a bird feeder craft workshop.

These events are part of OneDay’s mission to make Bowring Park a vibrant, accessible community space in Merseyside, blending sustainability, education, and wellbeing through hands-on experiences.
Programme activities include:
• Forest School (Ages 5–11) – Woodland activities and campfire games.
• Birdfeeder Workshop – Drop-in craft session creating birdfeeders to support local wildlife.
• Disney Princess Park Visit – Meet a beloved storybook character in real life.
• HYPE Bike Taster – Try cycling together as a family with the support of trained facilitators.
• Family Sports Day – Traditional races and games, open to all ages (registration required)
Concept Director for oneday, Chloe Purcell, said:
“We love putting on events that bring families together and offer accessible experiences that make a real difference to how people feel about their community. That’s what Bowring Park is all about… plus we can’t wait to see Huyton’s parents and their kids take part in the three-legged or egg and spoon race!”
The week is free to attend, but you can also pay to be part of an additional VIP meet and greet with the Disney Princess. More information and registration details for all the sessions are on the Bowring Park website.
