Opening its doors this spring, Liverpool’s newest independent entertainment destination, Blackstock Market, promises an amazing experience for visitors.

The brand-new £7 million Blackstock Market will have an extensive entertainment schedule that includes live sporting events on a giant screen, comedy, music, and an amazing food and drink selection.

The 60,000 sq ft project is the creation of brothers Paul and Binty Blair, who were raised in Toxteth and are the owners of the wildly successful and award-winning Hot Water Comedy Club.

The two have now used their creative vision to transform the former market site, which is situated in a crucial area of Liverpool’s city centre, creating yet another must-visit attraction for the area.

Blackstock Market has four theatre spaces of different sizes. The largest regular comedy club space in the world, a purpose-built, state-of-the-art 590-seat auditorium, is located there, along with podcast studios and a 50-seat studio space. Hot Water and the city’s hordes of comedy fans have made the venue their new home.

It will be the place to go for everything from corporate events and weddings to music, comedy, theatre, exhibitions, and quizzes thanks to its adaptable event spaces.

The primary market areas and most attractions will be open all day, seven days a week, without any need to book. There will also be free live music every day.

Later this year, the largest rooftop terrace in Liverpool will open. Top sporting events will also be shown live on a large screen, and guests who are sporting legends will be featured in special “audience with” shows.

A new food market has eight confirmed street food vendors, including Burgarism, Pattersons, KO Grill, Laros, Paulie’s Pizzeria, North Garden, and Deserts by Dre, so there are plenty of options to entice the taste buds in the meantime.

Additionally, there is Whisky & Water, an elegant Prohibition-era bar with live jazz and blues music and more than 300 whiskies, and Parlour, a sumptuous cocktail bar.

Liverpool breweries will offer a selection of their finest craft beers on a self-serve beer wall.

In keeping with its mission to uplift the neighbourhood, Blackstock Market sources its hot beverage selections from Monkey Board Coffee and the Liverpool Tea Warehouse, two local suppliers.

Blackstock Market boasts whimsical features like a solid steel tree, hidden rooms, and a stunning waterfall, all of which add to its unique charm.

The venue provides a backdrop for a variety of events, from weddings and corporate gatherings to art exhibitions and music festivals, and offers a number of spaces for hire as well as high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the building, guaranteeing an unforgettable experience for any gathering.

In addition, it offers free on-street parking and is dog-friendly, which makes it a perfect fit for Liverpool’s community and cultural life.

The whole site will also employ around 100 new staff from the local area.

Paul Blair says:

“Blackstock Market is set to become the ultimate destination venue in the city’s entertainment and cultural sphere.

“This project has been a labour of love over the past 30 months. With an aim to enrich Liverpool’s arts and culture, Blackstock Market will feature live music from morning till night, and nightly comedy shows, offering a vibrant lineup that includes the Hot Water Comedy Club upon the venue’s opening.

“But there’s more to Blackstock Market than just music and comedy. Whisky & Water recreates the Prohibition era, with a vast selection of over 300 whiskies, and Parlour crafts the finest cocktails.

“To mirror Liverpool’s rich food culture, we’re hosting eight street food traders, such as Burgerism and Pattersons, offering a taste of the city’s diverse culinary scene. And our self-service beer wall is a nod to local craft beer enthusiasts, showcasing Liverpool’s best brews.

“Blackstock Market is designed as an inclusive space, welcoming everyone to enjoy its dynamic atmosphere without needing a ticket for entry, affirming its status as a community hub. Open every day and night, we’re dedicated to establishing Blackstock Market as a central pillar of Liverpool’s vibrant cultural and community life.”
