The BBC has released the first-look teaser trailer for series two of This City Is Ours, giving fans an early glimpse at the return of the hit Liverpudlian crime drama.
Following the dramatic events of series one, the new episodes will see Michael, played by James Nelson Joyce, and Diana, played by Hannah Onslow, pulled straight back into danger after barely arriving in Spain.
The official teaser hints that there is still plenty of unfinished business, with Michael and Diana forced to answer questions surrounding Ricardo’s death.
Series one of This City Is Ours proved a major talking point with viewers, following the power struggles, loyalty and betrayal within a Liverpool crime family. The drama quickly built a strong following thanks to its gripping storyline, tense performances and its unmistakable Liverpool backdrop.
Series two looks set to pick up the story with even more pressure on Michael, as the consequences of the first series continue to close in around him.
The BBC has confirmed that This City Is Ours will return to BBC iPlayer and BBC One later this year.
Fans can also catch up on series one now on BBC iPlayer ahead of the show’s return.
