Internationally renowned graphic artist Anthony Burrill is bringing his colourful and uplifting work to Liverpool this summer for his first-ever exhibition in the city.
Hosted by independent creative studio and gallery Dorothy, the Joy! Pure Joy! exhibition will open in the Baltic Triangle on Friday 24 July 2026, showcasing a vibrant collection of Burrill’s iconic graphic artwork, limited edition prints and exclusive new designs.
The exhibition will run until Friday 28 August 2026 at Dorothy’s studio gallery on Jordan Street, giving visitors the chance to experience the work of one of the UK’s most recognisable contemporary graphic artists.
Celebrating Positivity Through Bold Graphic Art
The exhibition brings together a selection of Burrill’s most popular works, celebrating positivity, colour and the power of simple yet impactful graphic design.
Among the featured pieces will be his iconic 2004 letterpress print Work Hard & Be Nice To People, a phrase that has become one of the artist’s most recognisable designs and a message that continues to resonate with audiences around the world.
Known for his bold typography and optimistic approach to design, Burrill’s work has been displayed internationally and has become instantly recognisable for its uplifting messages and distinctive visual style.
New Limited Edition Collection Launches In Liverpool
Alongside the exhibition, visitors will also be among the first to see a brand-new collection of Joy! Pure Joy! limited edition screen prints and t-shirts, created exclusively by Anthony Burrill for the Liverpool show.
The exhibition will also be accompanied by a new site-specific mural artwork, Pure Joy, which will be installed in the Baltic Triangle as part of the event.
Dorothy said the team were delighted to be bringing Burrill’s work to their Liverpool studio gallery for the first time, having admired his designs for years.
The exhibition will open to the public from Friday 24 July until Friday 28 August 2026 at Dorothy’s studio gallery, located at Studio B, 22 Jordan Street, Liverpool, L1 0BP.
Limited edition prints from the new Joy! Pure Joy! collection will also be available to purchase online from Friday 24 July here.
The exhibition allows Liverpool visitors to experience the work of one of the world’s leading graphic artists while celebrating creativity and the city’s thriving independent arts scene in the Baltic Triangle.
