Everton in the Community launches appeal to help those in need

Everton in the Community, Everton’s official charity, has pledged that its life-saving provision within the surrounding area of Goodison Park will continue long after the lights have gone out at the Grand Old Lady.

And as Christmas approaches, if you’re passionate about preserving the Club’s presence in L4, you can join Everton in the Community in supporting the area’s most vulnerable with a regular or one-off donation.

Everton in the Community launches appeal to help those in need

The charity delivers over 60 projects and initiatives across the Liverpool City Region with more than half of those delivering at least one session within Liverpool 4, the postcode which Goodison Park resides within which falls nationally in the top 5% of deprived areas.

Everton’s work in the area varies from supporting young people at risk of homelessness with a place to stay, to combatting loneliness by enabling elderly residents to get out of the house and join us with free weekly social groups.

How can your donation help the Blue Family?

£3 a month would provide:

  • A food parcel for a family in need, providing them with three nutritious meals a day for a week.
  • Phone credit for a socially isolated person to keep in touch with family and friends.

£5 a month would provide:

  • Breakfast packs for 15 families.
  • Nappies and wipes for 15 families living in the Blue Mile.
  • Electricity to power a home for two families for a month.
  • Two food boxes to provide nutritious meals for a family for a week.

£10 a month would provide:

  • Basic hygiene packs including toothpaste, shower gel, shampoo, toilet rolls and sanitary towels for 12 people.
  • Gas to heat a home for a family for a month.
  • Electricity to power a home for a family for a month.

We tackle food poverty through a weekly pantry and through our purpose-built mental health and wellbeing hub, The People’s Place, we promote positive wellbeing to an area currently facing some of the highest levels of poor mental health in the UK.

L4 is also the home of Everton in the Community’s Digital Skills Lab, which aims to tackle the education inequalities in the region whilst next door, the charity has a 4G Cruyff Court facility where further sports provision can be delivered to all ages.

Earlier this season, Everton in the Community reaffirmed its commitment to the area when Everton’s new waterfront home opens in 2025 through its Forever campaign, and you can join the charity in its mission to supporting the people of L4 with a regular or one-off donation by scanning the QR code or by visiting the website.

‘Together, We Can’ preserve Everton in the Community’s presence in L4.
