Delifonseca will celebrate Burns Night with Irn Bru and Fried Mars Bars

Delifonseca will celebrate Burns Night giving Liverpool a taste of Scotland

Award-winning restaurant Delifonseca Dockside will give Liverpool a taste of Scotland when it holds its annual Burns Night in honour of renowned poet, Robert Burns.

Diners can taste Scottish cuisine among a three-course feast that’s on offer at the Brunswick Way venue, with the menu also including an Irn Bru bramble cocktail on arrival and even a dessert featuring a deep-fried Mars Bar.

The evening, which takes place on Thursday January 25th, will serve up a set menu to Delifonseca guests filled with Scottish cuisine.

Tom Ford, Restaurant Manager, said:

“We’ve always celebrated Burns Night, as people like to start the month off on a quiet note following the buzz of Christmas, so it’s a nice time to get back into the swing of dining out once again.

“Burns Night is a time to enjoy Scottish traditions and celebrate the renowned poet Robert Burns with a classic combination of haggis, neeps, tatties, and a warming dram thrown in for good measure. Our guests also love the fact that we offer a range of desserts, including the chance to sample a deep-fried Mars Bar, providing they’re not already full of the other, superb two-courses.”

Starting off the celebration, diners will have a choice of a Stornoway black pudding Scotch egg with homemade brown sauce, kale soup with potato dumplings or a starter position of classic haggis needs and tatties.

The centrepiece of the dinner will be slow braised lamb leg, barley and lentil broth with crispy leeks, traditional chieftain haggis, or fish lovers can opt for a cod supreme with smoked haddock Cullen skink, confit potatoes, caramelised onion.

And for vegetarians, there’s Portobello mushroom, stuffed with blue cheese served with rumbled thump croquettes and pearl onion pickle or classic vegetarian haggis, neeps and tatties.

To finish off the feast, sweet-tooth fans can opt for a Traditional Cranachan, Scotland’s answer to the humble trifle, with oats, cream, whisky and raspberries, or a dark chocolate mousse, crumble with a Mars Bar fritter and salted caramel. There’s also an added extra of a Scottish cheeseboard to finish everything off.

Tom Added:

“Join us as we raise a toast to the immortal words of Burns.

“Immerse yourself in a tradition that transcends time and discover the extraordinary talent that defines Scotland, while enjoying heart-warming food and an excellent atmosphere to match. And, I may even don my kilt…”

Delifonseca’s Burns Night menu is £45 per head and includes a three-course menu. Booking is essential and the menu may be subject to change.
