Knowsley Safari offers free tickets during second Teacher Strike

  • February 26, 2023
  • Editor

Knowsley Safari has announced that children can visit free of charge during the second wave of teacher walk outs this Tuesday 28 February. But tickets must be booked in advance online.

It gives visitors yet another chance to bring affordable learning to life on the UK’s longest safari drive, exploring the foot safari and taking part in a jam-packed series of fun and educational displays throughout the day – including sea lions and birds of prey.

And for one day only, the Tiger Trail will be home to series of Artefact Touch Tables – enabling visitors to travel from the rainforest, into the dessert and through the savannah, whilst learning from Knowsley Safari’s expert educators about animals in their habitats – and guaranteed to keep even the littlest learners engaged all day.

And to help visitors discover a whole world of fantastic facts and terrific tips to bring their five-mile drive through safari adventure to life, there’s a free-to-download Knowsley Safari app and downloadable maps.

All school aged children can take advantage of the offer, which runs this Tuesday, February 28th.

Knowsley Safari’s Head of Learning and Discovery Nikki Burton Mallot said:

“School may be out for the day, but that doesn’t mean that the children can’t continue to learn. We’re really looking forward to taking visitors on travels across the globe this Tuesday – with all of the exciting education this will bring.

“On the African savannah zone of our safari drive, they’ll be able to see rhinos, zebras, cheeky baboons and European Bison in our Eurasia zone. Then, in the Tiger Trail, visitors will be able to learn more about the animals who live in these different regions and environments at our series of pop-up touch tables.

“One thing’s for sure, we have lots of fun interactive activities, displays and talks planned for Tuesday – all to help educate children on the importance of conservation and the role we all have to play in the long-term survival of vulnerable species, like the many incredible animals we have here at Knowsley Safari”

Free children’s tickets are available now on Knowsley Safari’s website and must be pre-booked. All children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Adult tickets cost £18.50.
