National Museums Liverpool to close doors due to new national restrictions

Following the government’s latest announcement on the new national restrictions, National Museums Liverpool will once again close their doors to visitors from 4pm on Wednesday 4 November. The restrictions are expected to remain in place for at least a four-week period, until Wednesday 2 December.

Whilst these further restrictions are a devastating blow to the organisation, after the intensive preparation and implementation of health and safety / hygiene rules to enable us to re-open venues, we must all play our part to curb this infection.

National Museums Liverpool is a charity that provides wonderful experiences for millions of visitors every year and cares for some of the most important collections in the world. We have been comforted by, and hugely appreciate the support from our visitors during these challenging times. Your donations will help us continue to provide world-class exhibitions and experiences for our visitors and communities, into the future.

We believe in great museums for everyone. This is only possible with the support of those who share our vision and help us to achieve it. If you’d like to make a donation you can do so online. Your support makes a real difference and is very much appreciated – thank you.

While we’re closed, our dedicated teams will continue to care for our buildings, collections and our wildlife in the aquarium.

We’ll continue to share all of our latest news and stories with you. Sign up and stay tuned. You can also discover the wonders of our galleries and museums online: www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/virtual-tours

We send our solidarity and strength to all museum and heritage workers facing another period of closure. We’ve been here before. We got through it once and with your support we’ll get through it again.
