New entrance transformation for Liverpool Science Park thanks to Sciontec Liverpool investment

Liverpool Science Park undergoes entrance transformation thanks to Sciontec Liverpool investment.

In line with Liverpool Science Park (LSP)’s ongoing commitment to reinvest into their buildings under new owners Sciontec Liverpool, a major capital works project is underway which will significantly improve the main access point into the innovation centre.

Commencing back in October 2020, the project is creating an impressive, three story glassed lobby area, which flows directly off Mount Pleasant, resulting in a more accessible entryway for visitors and customers alike.

Inside, the reconfigured entrance area will include a flexible co-working and communal space, with an adjoining outside seating area looking out onto the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral Piazza.

In addition to enhanced views of Knowledge Quarter Liverpool (KQ Liverpool) and Hope Street’s numerous arts and hospitality venues, the upgraded space will be further improved by the increased presence of pop-up baristas, Land Coffee, who will be expanding their operations within LSP.

Colin Sinclair, CEO of Sciontec Liverpool and Director of Liverpool Science Park, said: “We are proud to be investing in and transforming the LSP facilities, enhancing the working environment for our customers for years to come.

“The upgraded entrance way features have been designed in response to changing customer demands, providing spacious areas in which our science and tech community can work, socialise and collaborate within an innovative environment.”

Due for completion in March, the transformational work which has been allowed to continue throughout lockdown, is the first major project undertaken by Sciontec Liverpool, with other development schemes being planned across the next five years.

While space remains in high demand at Liverpool Science Park and other KQ Liverpool innovation centres, the recently launched inward investment programme, KQ Base, and the new community referral scheme, KQ Reward, are aiming to fill the remaining lab and office suites.

Companies choosing to take space at Liverpool Science Park, alongside 70 of the region’s finest science, technology and knowledge-based organisations, will benefit from the onsite facilities and resources, including free access to the fitness studio, meeting rooms and community events, plus unrivalled proximity to the city’s two major universities and student talent pool.
