sPark It Liverpool

  • August 11, 2020

A new project set to take over the streets of the city making them incredibly unique pop-up installations, needs your support in funding its goal!

sPark It aims to take over various parking spaces across Liverpool, transforming them into places where community organisations and independent businesses can create pop-up installations to engage, inspire and entertain the people of the city.

The project is inspired by Park(ing) Day – an event that has fired the imagination all over the world.

Designed to give a platform to showcase your work, the team at Transition Liverpool are looking for community groups or voluntary organisations to get in touch to build partnerships and to be considered for a space at sPark It.

As a sPark It Partner you will have the opportunity to transform an on-street parking space in the city centre in whatever way you want. You will receive £200.00 towards the cost of your installation, an article on the Transition Liverpool website to promote your project, have your project shared across their platforms and those of other partners and support from professionals in order to make your ideas come to life.

In order to apply your project must be positive and creative while being mindful of carbon footprint and sustainability, promote environmental, social and/or economic justice and support the building of community networks.

Transition Liverpool are a small voluntary organisation, with sPark It their biggest project to date and need your help by kindly donating to the projects crowdfunder.

Currently in the process of securing the final permission from Liverpool City Council’s Parking Department, the project is pledging for the amount of £10,934 to cover arts/staging materials as well as other areas for the project to gain exposure.

Pledgers will only be charged if the project hits its funding goal by 30th September 2020.

From galleries, playgrounds, board games, mini golf to fresh food and public nap areas, why not be a part of something creative in Liverpool?
