Around 3,000 athletes descended on Liverpool this weekend to put their strength, stamina and determination to the test at the ATHX Games.
Liverpool Experience Campus welcomed competitors of all ages and abilities for the major fitness event, which challenges athletes to complete a gruelling two-and-a-half-hour test combining strength, endurance and MetCon X.

Seasoned competitors lined up alongside people taking on their first fitness competition, with athletes able to compete individually or as part of a pair.
Participants will receive their performance results and final placings following the Liverpool event, while some will also secure the opportunity to qualify for the ATHX World Finals in Lisbon this November.
Organisers said the weekend highlighted how competitive fitness can be accessible to people regardless of their age, experience or ability.
Among those taking part was a 72-year-old man competing alongside his younger gym partner, while 67-year-old Diane entered the competition with her niece for the first time.

Two competitors even tackled the challenge wearing their firefighting uniforms, while a blind athlete was praised for taking to the competition floor with complete confidence and determination.
The diverse field helped create an energetic atmosphere throughout the weekend, with competitors encouraging each other while still embracing the competitive nature of the Games.
ATHX aims to offer a different approach to fitness competitions, giving athletes the opportunity to push their limits, set their own measure of success and share the experience with a wider fitness community.
Following the Liverpool event, the competition is preparing for a major expansion in 2027.
ATHX Games is set to stage 45 events across 18 countries next year, with an estimated 80,000 athletes expected to participate worldwide as the competition continues its rapid international growth.
