Who says you have to travel all the way to the Bronx to capture sports and a little taste of America?
If American comfort food, ice cold beers on tap and live sporting events is your bag, then the new addition to Wood Street, Yankees Sports Bar & Grill is the one for you.
The new venue will be housed at the old site of Revolution on Wood Street in Liverpool’s Ropewalks area will reopen this weekend. The take over comes ahead of three underperforming Revolution bars were closed last year in Swansea, Liverpool’s Wood Street and Macclesfield. Now local independent, Pub Invest Group, have picked up the Wood Street site and injected new life into the venue.
Since closing last year the site, which was open for 20 years, has lay empty. Works have been going on now since February for the site to re-open this Spring.
The General Manager Iman Nicholson said:
“We look forward to opening our doors this Saturday evening just in time for St Patrick’s Day early next week. Yankees Bar & Grill will offer a great range of beers as well as American comfort food favourites such as burgers and wings. The food menu will roll out next month and I am pleased to say the opening of this venue creates over 30 full and part-time jobs also for the hospitality workers of our great city.”
The venue opening hours will be from 12pm until 1am Monday to Sunday. Yankees will show all major live sports events and will offer customers several pool tables to play on. Iman continued “ It will very much be the traditional American style sports bar look and theme throughout and in a few weeks we will also have news on what we will be doing upstairs.”
Pub Invest Group own and operate over 30 sites in the city centre of Liverpool from Soho, Level and Brooklyn Mixer to the Old Bank and the Rubber Soul Complex. Now employing well over 1000 local staff.
