Liverpool’s flagship Pall Mall development has taken a major step forward, with Liverpool City Council and Kier Property selecting VINCI Construction as the design and build partner, following a two-stage tender process.
The appointment marks the next phase of progress for Pall Mall, following the announcement by Chancellor Rachel Reeves at UKREiiF in May that government backing would help unlock key regeneration schemes in Liverpool city centre through the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s £2bn Investment Fund.
Pall Mall was identified as one of the priority projects, supporting the government’s focus on city densification and a brownfield-first approach to growth.
Part of the global VINCI Group, the company is a major international construction and infrastructure business with a strong track record delivering complex commercial, infrastructure and regeneration projects across the UK.
The appointment marks an important milestone for the Pall Mall scheme, which will deliver a high-quality, net-zero carbon-enabled office space alongside ground-floor retail and a new 0.5-acre green space.
The project supports Liverpool’s ambitions to attract investment, create jobs and drive sustainable economic growth.
Recent government backing has helped unlock progress on a number of major Liverpool city centre regeneration schemes, including Pall Mall.
The projects form part of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s wider investment programme, aimed at supporting economic growth, attracting investment and delivering new commercial space across the city.
The announcement of Vinci Construction as the preferred design and build contractor to the Pall Mall project will be highlighted at an Imagine Liverpool Board event hosted by Mayor Steve Rotheram and Councillor Liam Robinson in central London, bringing together senior leaders from across investment, development and regeneration.
Taking place at NLA – The London Centre, Aldermanbury, the event will showcase Liverpool’s next phase of growth, providing insight into the city’s priority development opportunities and pipeline, and offering direct engagement with city leadership and delivery partners.
The Imagine Liverpool Board brings together senior figures from Liverpool City Council, the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and key public and private sector partners to drive forward major investment opportunities and regeneration projects across the city.
The event marks an important opportunity to connect with investors and partners, while demonstrating the progress being made on key schemes, including Pall Mall, as Liverpool continues to build momentum.
Liverpool City Council is working with Kier Property to bring forward the first phase of the scheme, which forms part of a wider masterplan set to transform the Pall Mall area into a modern commercial destination and support long-term economic growth.
Further details on the next stage of the project will follow in due course.
