The lovely Vale Park in New Brighton is celebrating its 125th birthday, and Lindsay Hudson and Lorraine Logan, two local business owners, want to use events and workshops to encourage socialising and creativity.

In Vale House, Lindsay Hudson conducts frequent workshops on furniture painting and renovation, teaching people how to use Frenchic to update antique furniture. Lorraine Logan oversees jewellery-making courses and Art In The Park. The two are planning craft and vintage fairs as well as nearly new sales this year.

Lindsay conducts entertaining furniture painting workshops for all skill levels at Vale House every other Monday night from 5.30pm to 8pm. All materials are supplied, people bring a piece of furniture to paint, and each time they learn a new technique. You take away your gorgeous new masterpiece and the classes only cost £15.

Every month on the last Sunday, Lindsay conducts more intensive workshops, much like the classes. These cover far more ground and run from 10am to 3.30pm, so you can leave fully skilled! Once more, you bring a piece of furniture to be transformed, and the workshops only cost £65 including all materials.

Don’t fancy it yourself? Lindsay can come out and transform your furniture at home for you! Lindsay offers an upcycling and furniture painting service on commission for anyone looking to revive tired furniture at a lower cost of replacing. This includes kitchens, bedroom furniture, UPVC, front doors and more!

To bring people together and socialise, Lorraine Logan has hosted the fabulous Art In The Park for five years. Art In The Park is a non-profit initiative that costs just £3 each, which covers room hire. Guest artists attend regularly to run workshops and there are painting trips to places like Port Sunlight and the prestigious Birkenhead Priory. Art In The Park runs every Tuesday, 7 pm- 9 pm in Vale Park.
