The lovely Vale Park in New Brighton is celebrating its 125th birthday, and Lindsay Hudson and Lorraine Logan, two local business owners, want to use events and workshops to encourage socialising and creativity.

In Vale House, Lindsay Hudson conducts frequent workshops on furniture painting and renovation, teaching people how to use Frenchic to update antique furniture. Lorraine Logan oversees jewellery-making courses and Art In The Park. The two are planning craft and vintage fairs as well as nearly new sales this year.

Lindsay conducts entertaining furniture painting workshops for all skill levels at Vale House every other Monday night from 5.30pm to 8pm. All materials are supplied, people bring a piece of furniture to paint, and each time they learn a new technique. You take away your gorgeous new masterpiece and the classes only cost £15.

Every month on the last Sunday, Lindsay conducts more intensive workshops, much like the classes. These cover far more ground and run from 10am to 3.30pm, so you can leave fully skilled! Once more, you bring a piece of furniture to be transformed, and the workshops only cost £65 including all materials.

Don’t fancy it yourself? Lindsay can come out and transform your furniture at home for you! Lindsay offers an upcycling and furniture painting service on commission for anyone looking to revive tired furniture at a lower cost of replacing. This includes kitchens, bedroom furniture, UPVC, front doors and more!

To bring people together and socialise, Lorraine Logan has hosted the fabulous Art In The Park for five years. Art In The Park is a non-profit initiative that costs just £3 each, which covers room hire. Guest artists attend regularly to run workshops and there are painting trips to places like Port Sunlight and the prestigious Birkenhead Priory. Art In The Park runs every Tuesday, 7 pm- 9 pm in Vale Park.

Celebrating 20 years of jewellery-making workshops and events, BeadyBeady sessions are a huge hit amongst kids and adults. For just £10 your child can enjoy a 2-hour session, making 5 items ranging from keyrings, bracelets, earrings, bookmarks and many more.

Current dates for BeadyBeady workshops at Vale ark are July 13th, August 10th, October 12th, and December 7th. BeadyBeady is also available for youth group bookings and Brownies and Guides. She also has her jewellery for sale in Concept Corner, Seabank Rd, New Brighton.

Nearly New Sales, Vintage & Craft fairs are being run throughout the year in Vale Park by Lindsey and Lorraine. Sunday 23rd June from 11 am – 4 pm come down to explore the many different deals at the Nearly New Sale. Each time you can find different stalls, from clothes to toys to home decor. Get amazing prices for stand-out items. Enquire for more dates throughout the year.

On Saturday 4th May and Saturday 22nd June, 11 am – 4 pm, check out the different vendors at Vale Park’s Craft Fair to support local creatives. More dates to come throughout the year.

On 29th and 30th June 10am – 5pm buy unique furniture, jewellery, clothing and other items at the Vintage Fair. Lindsey Hudson, who runs the event and owns The Vintage Interior Fairy, has a stall with different items and furniture from her travels, including France. If you want one-of-a-kind vintage, get down to Vale Park’s Vintage Fair.

Lindsay and Lorraine’s initiatives aim to get people creative and socialising — providing them with new hobbies to combat loneliness and boredom, with a huge mindfulness aspect of the classes. If you’re looking to get creative and spark a new passion, then get in touch — and there are few more picturesque places to do it than at the stunning Vale Park!

You can book a class or message Lindsay on 07939 53663.
