UK’s biggest investment and regeneration event UKREiiF is moving to Liverpool

Liverpool has secured another major national event, with the UK’s biggest real estate, investment and infrastructure forum set to make the city its new home from 2028.

UKREiiF (The UK’s Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum) will relocate to Liverpool Experience Campus, bringing thousands of investors, developers, local authorities, government representatives and built environment professionals to the city.

The move represents a significant coup for Liverpool and is expected to provide a major platform for attracting investment, supporting regeneration and generating additional spending across the city region.

Since launching in 2022, UKREiiF has grown rapidly to attract more than 17,000 delegates annually, while helping to facilitate billions of pounds worth of investment discussions and regeneration opportunities across the UK.

Liverpool Experience Campus will provide the event with conference, exhibition and arena facilities alongside extensive outdoor waterfront space, allowing UKREiiF to continue expanding in the years ahead.

The successful Liverpool bid was developed through a partnership between Liverpool Experience Campus, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Liverpool City Council and Liverpool BID Company.

Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram described securing the event as a major vote of confidence in the region.

“This is a massive win for the Liverpool City Region and a real vote of confidence in everything we’ve been building together. UKREiiF is the UK’s premier real estate, investment and infrastructure event – and from 2028, it’ll call Liverpool home.

“That means thousands of investors, developers and decision-makers coming here and seeing first-hand the ambition, talent and opportunities right across our city region.”

Mayor Rotheram also thanked Leeds and West Yorkshire for their role in developing UKREiiF, saying Liverpool would aim to build on the event’s success and make the wider city region part of the experience.

Liverpool City Council Leader Cllr Liam Robinson said hosting UKREiiF would give delegates the opportunity to see investment and regeneration opportunities across Liverpool first-hand.

“Liverpool is proud to have been chosen as host for UKREiiF from 2028. UKREiiF is the most significant regeneration event in the UK, and a key forum for securing investment in communities.

“Moving to Liverpool will help it become even bigger and better, helping to deliver growth in every postcode and mobilising billions in private sector investment.”

The arrival of UKREiiF is also expected to provide a considerable boost to Liverpool’s visitor economy, with thousands of delegates requiring hotels, restaurants, bars, transport and other services during their stay.

Helen Roberts, Member of Accommodation BID and Chair of Liverpool Hospitality, said the event would provide an opportunity to showcase Liverpool to an influential national audience.

“We’re delighted to welcome UKREiiF to Liverpool from 2028 and to have the opportunity to showcase our city to thousands of delegates.

“Liverpool has a strong story to tell when it comes to regeneration, investment, development and our visitor economy, and this event will provide a fantastic platform to put that story in front of an audience that can help shape our future.”

Faye Dyer, Chief Executive of Liverpool Experience Campus, said the scale and flexibility of the waterfront campus would support UKREiiF as the event enters its next phase of growth.

“Liverpool Experience Campus provides the experienced team and infrastructure to realise that ambition – a combination of conference, exhibition and arena facilities, alongside extensive outdoor waterfront event space, all seamlessly connected across a single campus.

“This enables organisers to bring together thousands of delegates in one location, while retaining the flexibility to expand and evolve year after year.”

UKREiiF Co-Founding Director and Managing Director Nathan Spencer said Liverpool offered the space and flexibility required for the event’s continued expansion.

“UKREiiF is now moving into its next chapter, with both domestic growth and international expansion. After reviewing our strategic direction, we believe Liverpool gives us a site and a city region that can support our continued growth.

“It offers a warm welcome for delegates and the space and flexibility to help the event continue to grow.”

UKREiiF will remain in Leeds for its 2027 edition before making the move to Liverpool in 2028.

Further details about the first Liverpool UKREiiF programme will be announced in due course.
