The Watering Can in Greenbank Park Launches Luxury Afternoon Tea Experience This April

Nestled within the picturesque surroundings of Greenbank Park, Liverpool’s much-loved café bistro, The Watering Can, is delighted to announce the launch of its new Luxury Afternoon Tea.

On Monday, 13th April 2026, the venue will officially introduce this refined yet relaxed experience to the heart of South Liverpool, providing a beautifully curated setting for one of Britain’s most cherished traditions.

Guests can book today by calling 0151 319 2366 to secure their place for an offering that includes handcrafted savouries and sweets elegantly presented on fine crockery.

The new service was previewed at an exclusive pre-launch event last Friday, where invited guests enjoyed a sneak peek of the menu, enhanced by stunning floral styling from The Event Agency and live entertainment from the talented Berian Miles.

Lovingly crafted by the in-house team at Frankley’s Bakery, the afternoon tea showcases an exquisite selection of home-baked breads, delicate pastries, and timeless favourites, all made using the finest quality ingredients.

Priced at £27 per person, the experience includes a thoughtful selection of savoury items.

The non-vegetarian menu features honey-glazed Lancashire ham with extra mature Cheddar and tomato chutney on a mini all-butter croissant, free-range egg mayonnaise with watercress on a soft golden brioche bun, and cold-smoked Atlantic salmon with fresh dill and lemon cream cheese on artisan sourdough.

For those preferring the vegetarian menu, the selection includes the mature Cheddar and tomato chutney croissant, the egg mayonnaise brioche bun, and roasted Mediterranean vegetables with baby spinach and sriracha mayonnaise in a warm tortilla.

To complete the experience, guests will enjoy a selection of handcrafted sweet treats, along with a freshly baked sultana scone served with Champagne-strawberry jam and clotted cream.

Local Partnerships and Premium Finishes

The Watering Can in Greenbank Park Launches Luxury Afternoon Tea Experience This April

The Watering Can continues its commitment to regional producers by serving afternoon tea with a choice of traditional English Breakfast tea or an expertly brewed Americano using beans from local speciality roasters, Crosby Coffee.

For those looking to add a touch of indulgence, chilled sparkling wine is available from £6 per glass, with bottles offered on request.

Keith Perryman, Owner of The Watering Can, said:

“Our Luxury Afternoon Tea is designed to create a truly special experience.

“Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Greenbank Park, it engages all the senses, from savoury and sweet delicacies to luxury teas, fine coffee, sparkling drinks, and one of Liverpool’s most iconic settings.”

The experience is designed to offer an atmosphere of elegance and relaxed sophistication.

Gift vouchers are also available, making the luxury afternoon tea an ideal choice for celebrations, special occasions, or thoughtful gifting.

By combining exceptional food with the parkland views of one of the North West’s most cherished café destinations, the venue aims to reinforce its reputation for providing high-quality hospitality in a unique setting.

Filming for Netflix’s upcoming thriller The Woods has continued in Liverpool, with two of the show’s leading actors spotted in the city’s Georgian Quarter. Tom Bateman and Mandeep Dhillon were seen filming scenes outside Papillon and The Quarter on Tuesday 21 July, as production crews returned to Liverpool for the latest shoot. Explore Liverpool’s photographer captured a new collection of images from the set as filming took place around the corner of Hope Street and Falkner Street. Papillon is located on Hope Street, with its outdoor area wrapping around the corner onto Falkner Street, while neighbouring restaurant The Quarter sits just a short distance away. Bateman was once again seen in character as leading barrister Paul ‘Cope’ Copeland, alongside Mandeep Dhillon, who plays Loren Muse in the eight-part Netflix series. Details surrounding the scenes remain under wraps, but the latest photographs show the pair together outside the popular Georgian Quarter venues. The latest shoot gives viewers another glimpse behind the scenes as the production continues to use recognisable locations across Liverpool and the wider North West. Filming has previously taken place at St George’s Hall, where Bateman was photographed shooting scenes that appeared to show his character leaving court. The production has also used Hamilton Square in Birkenhead as one of its locations. What is Netflix’s The Woods about? Based on Harlan Coben’s 2007 novel, The Woods follows Paul ‘Cope’ Copeland, whose sister Camille disappeared from a summer camp 20 years earlier. Now a successful barrister and single father, Cope has attempted to rebuild his life following the tragedy. However, the discovery of the body of a man believed to have died alongside Camille leads him to question whether his sister may also have survived. His search for answers uncovers years of secrets, lies and cover-ups that threaten the life he has created. Mandeep Dhillon stars as Loren Muse, while Michelle Keegan plays Cope’s former love, Lucy Silverfield. The cast also includes Pearce Quigley, James Buckley, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Roger Barclay and Charlotte Beaumont. The limited series has been written by Danny Brocklehurst, whose previous Harlan Coben adaptations for Netflix include Fool Me Once, Stay Close and Run Away. Production is taking place in partnership with Manchester-based Quay Street Productions, with filming continuing at locations across the North West. Netflix has not yet confirmed a release date for The Woods.
