The Watering Can, has announced the ‘Return of the Roast’ and have opened booking lines early by popular demand for their legendary Sunday Roasts from 30th October. 

The stunning venue nestled in the idyllic surroundings of Greenbank Park was recently voted in the top 10% of restaurants in Trip Advisor’s Traveller’s Choice Awards for the second year running.

As the sunshine faded and the autumnal chill set in over the past couple of weeks, the team at The Watering Can have been inundated with requests for the ‘Return of the Roast’ which was lovingly referred to as being ‘As good as ya ma’s’ by many regulars on social media last year! 

Owner Keith Perryman said:

“Whilst our customers have loved our spring/summer menu this year, as soon as the cooler weather kicked in our phone has literally rung off the hook with customers asking if we have started our Sunday Roast service yet?!  This has led to our staff affectionately calling it the Roast Reservation hotline!” 

Sunday Roasts are a firm favourite with most and what better way to spend the official day of rest than with a leisurely stroll in 12 acres of beautiful Greenbank Park followed by one of the best roasts in the city.

The mouth-watering menu is packed full of flavours using local suppliers, seasonal produce and higher welfare traceable meat suppliers.  Diners can enjoy a starter, main-course and a glass of house wine or a beer for just £27 per person. 

Starters include:- Buttermilk fried chicken, katsu mayonnaise, pickled daikon and radis King prawn cocktail, bloody Mary mayonnaise (£3 supp)
Smoked Salmon, whipped goats’ cheese, candied beetroot, crispbread (£3 supp) 

Soup of the Day (vg) (gf) 

Mains include:- Free-range chicken breast with pork and caramelised leek stuffing Salt marsh Cumbrian lamb rump, minted lamb gravy (gf) (£5 supp) Belted Gallway beef rump (gf) Porcini mushrooms and winter beans nut roast (vg) (gf) (n) Served with roast potatoes, honey roasted carrots, green vegetable medley, Yorkshire pudding and mouth-watering gravy 

There is also a selection of  sides and desserts available on the menu to round off your Sunday culinary experience perfectly.
