TAG in partnership with Salutaris are thrilled to announce that our testing Partner Randox Health have been added to the list of Private Providers for Coronavirus testing (test to release) and general testing by the UK department for Health and Social care.

The news coincides with the decision from Randox Health to base their first mobile laboratory with TAG and Salutaris at John Lennon Airport, reinforcing the ongoing commitment to the Liverpool City Region from Randox, who have recently continued their sponsorship with the Randox Grand National.

'Test to Release' now available for Liverpool John Lennon Airport passengers

The Mobile facility offers the ability to get a fit to fly or test to release certificate within 1 – 3 hours of taking the PCR test.

What is test to release?

The Test to Release for International Travel scheme is for people who need to self-isolate on arrival in England.  Under the scheme you can choose to pay for a private COVID-19 test. If the result is negative, you can stop self-isolating.

The earliest you can take a test is 5 full days after you have departed a destination for England not on the travel corridor list.

What is the Randox Mobile Laboratory?

Randox have commissioned a fully accredited mobile laboratory that can be deployed at any location to perform mobile PCR testing for coronavirus.

The mobile lab is fully self-contained and accredited, with the capacity to process up to 1,000 tests daily.

This means that a fit to fly or test to release certificate that would take up to 48 hours with our standard process will take as little as 1 hour and no longer than 3 hours to deliver a certificate back to a customer.

Cliff Kirby Director of Test Assurance Group (TAG) commented:

“It is fantastic news to see Randox join the private providers list for test and release.  At a time when there is so much uncertainty, being able to offer people arriving in the UK the facility to reduce their self-isolation from 10 days to 5 days subject to a covid negative result is great news.  We are delighted that Randox have chosen to strengthen their bonds with the Liverpool City Region by situating their first mobile testing facility with us at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.  This is the only one of its kind deployed in the UK right now”.

Lucy O’Shaughnessy Commercial Director at Liverpool John Lennon Airport added:

“Being able to offer our passengers the facility to reduce the self isolation period from 10 days to 5 days in line with Government guidelines is great news.  2020 has been a very difficult year for our industry and this addition is another step forward.  We share the excitement of the team at TAG and Salutaris with the arrival of the mobile testing facility from Randox Health at our Airport”.

The express 1-3 hour testing service is available now for £175 per test.
