This summer, visitors looking for an unforgettable day out in Liverpool are invited to discover the world-famous Liverpool Cathedral, Britain’s largest cathedral and one of the city’s most remarkable visitor attractions.
Liverpool’s buildings are admired not only for their architectural beauty, but also for the enduring relationship they share with the people who pass through their doors and make them their own.
Built by the people, for the people, Liverpool Cathedral plays an integral role in the life of the city: a place for marking special moments, celebrating milestones, for quiet pause, and simply stepping inside to experience the building itself.
Combining spectacular architecture, panoramic city views, immersive guided experiences and delicious food, Liverpool Cathedral is the perfect destination for a summer day out.
At the heart of the visitor experience this summer is the Cathedral Tower Experience. Standing 152 meters above sea level, the tower provides breathtaking 360-degree views across Liverpool, the River Mersey and beyond.
As part of the experience, visitors can also enjoy a glimpse inside the bell chamber, home to the world’s highest and heaviest peal of bells.
This fascinating stop on the climb provides a unique insight into the Cathedral’s rich heritage and is an unforgettable part of the journey to the top.
Summer at Liverpool Cathedral Tour and Bistro Offerings
For those wanting to delve deeper into the Cathedral’s history and hidden spaces, Liverpool Cathedral’s range of tours provides an unbelievable opportunity for visitors.
The popular Above and Beyond Tour takes guests behind the scenes to areas mainly closed to the public, led by our expert guides who bring the Cathedral’s historic story to life.
There are also several other tours to enjoy, including the Stained Glass Windows Tour, Outside Tour, and the brand-new Medical Heritage Tour.
After exploring, visitors can relax and refuel at the Welsford Bistro.
The bistro serves a range of freshly prepared dishes, homemade cakes, seasonal drinks and, what many consider to be one of the top bowls of Scouse in Liverpool.
