A food, drink and little luxuries festival is returning to the picturesque village of Port Sunlight this Easter weekend, bringing together over 40 of some of Wirral and Merseyside’s best local makers.
Presented by Port Sunlight Village Trust and award-winning Wirral chocolatier The Chocolate Cellar, the Sugar & Spice Festival will be open to explore on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 April, 11 am–4 pm.
It will take place around the beautiful Diamond landscaped park opposite Port Sunlight Museum, along King George’s Drive, in the centre of the village.
The festival will be completely free to enter and includes over 40 stalls where visitors can explore and enjoy a range of flavours from around the world, from sweet and indulgent to spicy and flavourful.
From indulgent chocolate and homemade honey to jambalaya and Lebanese breads, the festival will offer something to suit all tastes and give visitors the chance to discover something new.
Some of the spicy highlights include the flavours of Namak Kitchen’s Indian and Pakistani delights, Camel’s Hump and their Lebanese Deli and bakery, and Pen Y Lan’s hog roast.
Sugary treats are plenty with delicious cakes from Cake House Wirral, handcrafted chocolates by The Chocolate Cellar and scooped dairy ice cream with Hyacinth.
Family Entertainment and Heritage Discoveries

Also running on the day will be Port Sunlight’s ever-popular Easter Trail around the village, this time with a Billy the Bunny theme.
Tickets are £8 each and, as numbers are limited, families are encouraged to book early via the village website to avoid disappointment.
For those interested in the local heritage, Foodie Tours will run at 11.30 am on both days, giving visitors the chance to uncover Port Sunlight’s hidden foodie history.
This includes the chance to taste the Port Sunlight Bun, a rediscovered 1929 recipe baked back to life by the village’s Nettle Café.
Charlene Davies, Learning and Audience Development Manager at Port Sunlight Village Trust, said:
“We’re so excited to once again welcome thousands of hungry visitors to Port Sunlight.
“The Sugar & Spice Festival has grown every year since we launched in 2024, and not only does it bring lots of people to enjoy this special village, but it also supports our incredible local businesses and makers.
“This Easter edition of the Sugar & Spice Festival will be a fantastic family day out, with face painters, entertainment from the Wirral Poetry Festival, and so much more.”
Travel and Visitor Information

Visitors will also enjoy a selection of little luxuries on offer from local makers and creators, such as illustrations from Katie Tyson and Bee Kind Reimagined’s eco-friendly products.
Even dogs will be catered for by Cannabark, and four-legged friends on short leads are welcome to explore the festival with their owners.
Free parking is available opposite Port Sunlight Museum and on surrounding streets, however, visitors are asked to be considerate of residents.
To ensure a smooth journey, visitors are encouraged to travel by train on the Merseyrail network and make use of Port Sunlight or Bebington stations, both of which are a five-minute walk away from the Diamond park.
More information about visiting the festival and booking trail tickets can be found on the official Port Sunlight Village Trust website.
