Southport is set for a day of live music, family entertainment and community celebrations as the Market Quarter Festival returns this summer.
Taking place on Saturday 18 July, the free festival will transform Southport Market and the surrounding Market Quarter into a hub of entertainment, with live performances, family activities and independent businesses coming together for a full day of events.
Running from 10 am until 8 pm, the festival will showcase some of the best local talent across indoor and outdoor stages. At the same time, visitors can enjoy food, drink and shopping from Southport’s independent traders.
Live Music Across Two Stages at Southport Market Festival
Music will be at the heart of the event, with performances taking place across two stages throughout the afternoon and evening.
The outdoor Main Stage on Market Street will feature a packed line-up, including performances from Cara Ceol, Fish Heads, Fink Moore Flizzy, Outtakes, The Yee Haws and Glass Arcade.
Inside Southport Market Hall, the Acoustic Stage will offer a more intimate setting with live sets from John Morgan, Adam Parry, Kieran Caul, Rick & Nathan, Paul Morgan, Matilda and Cara Ceol returning to close the festival.
The mix of indoor and outdoor performances will give visitors the chance to enjoy live music throughout the day while exploring the Market Quarter.
The festival will also offer plenty for families, with entertainment planned from morning until evening.
Children can enjoy Mr Tumble & Friends on the outdoor stage from 10 am until 12 pm, providing free family entertainment to kick-start the day.
The popular Big Family Disco will also return, taking place at 12 pm and 3 pm in the Extravaganza Room.
The ticketed experience will include live DJs, children’s entertainers, party games, giveaways and a bouncy castle.
Alongside the organised activities, families can enjoy the wider festival atmosphere, with entertainment and attractions spread throughout the Market Quarter.
Southport Businesses and Independent Traders Take Centre Stage
The event aims to celebrate the independent businesses that make Southport’s Market Quarter a popular destination for locals and visitors.
Festival-goers will have the chance to browse stalls, discover unique products and enjoy food and drink from Southport Market’s traders throughout the day.
There will also be Irish entertainment at Connolly’s on King Street, with live singers, traditional Irish music and karaoke adding to the festival atmosphere.
Jordan Khokhar, Senior General Manager at Southport Market, said:
“The Market Quarter Festival is all about bringing people together and showcasing everything that makes Southport special.
