Kevinth Cardona Pariño from Spain was crowned the winner of Red Bull Up The Mast Liverpool 2026, which took place at Salthouse Dock for the first time.
Thousands of spectators were captivated throughout the afternoon by the event’s exciting format and outstanding efforts, as competitors took it in turns to run up the greasy pole in an attempt to capture the flag.

20 challengers out of 204 qualified for the final after capturing the flag in the first round of the competition.
Only one finalist managed to successfully grab the flag in the final, with second and third place being decided by the furthest distance up the mast.
Winner, Kevinth, is no stranger to this competition, having also participated in Red Bull Up The Mast events in other countries, such as Turkey, and even has a tattoo to celebrate the event.
After winning the event for the first time and being crowned Red Bull Up The Mast Liverpool 2026 winner, Kevinth said:
“I came specially from Spain to participate today because this competition is my passion.
“It is a dream come true to have won Red Bull Up The Mast.”

International Challengers Descend on Merseyside Waterfront for High-Stakes Acrobatic Trial

The introduction of the maritime tournament turns the historic local port into a major arena for extreme sports, attracting specialised athletes from across Europe to the city centre.
The high-stakes environment tested the balance and speed of over two hundred participants, drawing large crowds to the waterfront railings as the field was narrowed down during the afternoon heats.
The demanding physical challenge saw the vast majority of local and international contestants plunge into the water, highlighting the immense difficulty of the course before the Spanish veteran secured the only clean catch of the final round.
