A vibrant transformation is coming to one of the city’s most iconic locations as a new dining concept prepares for its grand debut.
Opening this May, White Tiger will bring a fresh, flavour-led, and elevated take on Indian dining to Liverpool’s Kings Dock.
The restaurant is the creation of Meenal Abhyankar and Dhanya Kalathil, two Merseyside-based doctors and long-time friends who have spent over 20 years working in the local health sector.
Their move into hospitality represents a passion project rooted in care and connection.
Having met at the school gates while their children were young, the pair bonded over a mutual love for authentic flavours and a desire to introduce a concept that reflects the true complexity of dishes found across the Indian subcontinent.
A Culinary Collaboration With Global Influence

The standout feature of White Tiger is its menu, developed in collaboration with two internationally renowned Indian chefs, Shipra Khanna and Anahita Dhondy.
This partnership brings together heritage and innovation to showcase a vast landscape of cuisine.
Guests can expect a range of dishes, from bold and nostalgic regional favourites to refined modern interpretations.
The offering also draws inspiration from Hakka street food and various global flavours, ensuring that every plate balances texture, taste, and storytelling.
By moving beyond the expected, the menu aims to provide something that feels both familiar to those who know Indian cuisine and unexpected for those looking to explore new culinary territories.
Joining Liverpool’s Vibrant Dining Scene

The name White Tiger was chosen to reflect something rare and powerful, symbolising the unique journey of its founders as they balance medical careers with entrepreneurship.
Set within the historic Kings Dock, the space has been designed to be both special and accessible.
The interiors, music, and service are curated to work in harmony, creating an immersive experience that extends well beyond the food itself.
Meenal Abhyankar explains that she and Dhanya felt something was missing in the city region when it came to the variety and elegance of the dishes they grew up with.
Working with world-class chefs has allowed them to bring that vision to life in a way that feels completely different from existing offerings.
For the founders, Liverpool was the only choice for their first venture.
Dhanya Kalathil describes the project as a journey built on friendship and trust, noting that the city’s vibrant energy makes it the perfect home for a restaurant that is thoughtful and expressive while remaining welcoming to everyone.
White Tiger is scheduled to open its doors in May, with further details regarding the specific launch date and menu highlights expected in the coming weeks.
