Monty’s Diner, a brand new casual dining concept by food travel experts SSP Group, has opened today at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA).
Monty’s is a focal point of the airport’s multi-million-pound Departure Lounge redevelopment and LJLA is working closely with SSP, who operate eight outlets on site at the airport, to also upgrade several other units as part of its enhanced passenger offering. These include the Kissing Gate Pub and Kitchen and Starbucks, which will join Sable & Co Bar and Kitchen which is SSP’s premium dining concept, and a new look Upper Crust which have both opened within the past year.

“We started these latest multi-million-pound improvements with our retail partner SSP last year with the opening of the Sable & Co Bar and Kitchen with its views across the airfield, which has since become one of our most popular Departure Lounge facilities. Monty’s will add to the retail offer bringing a new twist for passengers, with an American-inspired dining experience and their all-day signature menu serving up breakfast favourites in particular and which we expect to be a great family favourite for many years to come.”

Here’s three things to know about Monty’s:
- There’s an all-day menu serving up breakfast favourites, including classic cooked breakfasts, filled breakfast bagels and loaded waffles. There are hearty daytime meals throughout the rest of the day such as signature smashed patty burgers, hot dogs and wings complemented by thick shakes and decadent desserts
- This is a new concept providing an American-inspired experience in a buzzing airport atmosphere. Monty’s is a casual all-day diner that complements SSP’s diverse portfolio of airport bars and restaurants that focuses on meeting the needs of modern passengers
- With 190 seats, the spacious design ensures plenty of space for families and larger groups to enjoy a meal together before heading on their travels
