Coed Moel Famau is a large forest situated in the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a walking trail to the top of Moel Famau, the highest summit in the Clwydian Range.
Nice easy walk. If you’re just starting to get into walking or want to go with the kids then this is a good one to start with.
You can make it as difficult as you want by choosing 1 of 3 routes.
We went for the longer/easier purple route. We’ve done the red route before and it can be tough in parts.
Weather wasn’t the best for views at the top but on a clear day the views are great and I can imagine it would be ideal for a sunrise/sunsets.
