Families and Disney enthusiasts across the region are invited to step into a world of theatrical magic this summer as a brand-new interactive experience brings the classic world of Mary Poppins to life on the Merseyside coast.
The highly anticipated family event, titled A Jolly Holiday with Mary and Bert, is scheduled to take over Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant and the historic Silcock’s Carousel on the Southport Promenade on Sunday 19th July 2026.
The unique seaside adventure will give visitors the chance to interact directly with the beloved characters Mary and Bert, provided by the specialist performance team at Regally Royal Parties and Events.
The carefully curated daytime itinerary features an immersive mini musical showcase, personal meet-and-greet sessions, interactive kite-making workshops, and an authentic Edwardian carousel ride.
Attendees will also be treated to a specially prepared afternoon tea and picnic lunch, complete with traditional seaside sweet treats including fresh ice cream and spun candy floss.
Singalongs and Edwardian Carousel Rides on the Southport Promenade

The event promises spectacular photographic opportunities with the performers, who will be meticulously costumed in the iconic Edwardian attire made famous by the legendary motion picture.
Designed as a multi-generational celebration, the experience encourages parents, grandparents, and children alike to sing along to the movie’s timeless soundtrack in a relaxed, family-friendly environment.
Silcock Leisure Group Head of Operations Serena Silcock-Prince said:
“Calling all fans of A Spoonful of Sugar! We’d love you to come and join us for A Jolly Holiday with Mary and Bert this July.
“They popped in for a visit last week and it was amazing to see the reactions from people of all ages, as Mary Poppins is such a magical movie that evokes happy memories for so many people.
“Come along, enjoy the mini show, meet our characters, make and Let’s Go Fly A Kite, and enjoy lunch in our Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant alongside a ride on our famous Silcock’s Carousel.
“The Carousel was built in 1901 and has such a traditional Edwardian era feel to it that marries perfectly with the movie, and Mary and Bert looked perfect when they were pictured on it, as well as on Southport Pier!
“This will be a fabulous day out with so much more to enjoy around us too, such as the crazy golf, the model railway village, the children’s adventure playground, Kings Gardens, and the boats on the Marine Lake, making it the perfect summer destination.”
