MacDonald Old England Hotel & Spa is a luxury country house hotel on the shores of Lake Windermere, with superb views, luxurious spa, thermal suite, stylish bedrooms and a locally renowned restaurant.
It’s got a great little old fashioned theme to this hotel. Location is perfect if you’re there to eat and get on the ale, right in the middle of everything.
Definitely opt for breakfast as the views are amazin of a morning. Can imagine it to be really nice in the summer as there was an outdoor terrace over looking kind the lake.

Price: We paid £159 inc breakfast and paid extra £30 for a lake view
Location: Perfect, bars and restaurants on your door step and right next to the Lake
Parking: £15 a night. You can park right outside to check in and take your stuff to the room. You can find cheaper alternative parking close by.
