Liverpool’s first ever 24 Hour Run Against Homelessness has been hailed a huge success after raising more than £5,200 to support people experiencing homelessness across the city.
The event raised £5,233 so far for The Whitechapel Centre, bringing together runners, walkers, local businesses, community groups and volunteers for 24 hours of continuous activity in support of people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Starting and finishing at Moose Coffee on William Jessop Way, the challenge saw participants take on a range of impressive running achievements throughout the day and night.
Some runners completed 10 laps, while others reached the remarkable milestone of 100km. A handful of dedicated participants even managed to keep running for the entire 24 hours.
The event attracted supporters at all hours, creating a strong sense of community spirit as people came together to encourage runners, volunteer their time and raise vital funds for a local charity.
The Whitechapel Centre has thanked the businesses and organisations that helped make the event possible, including Moose Coffee, Plaza 1821, LiftOff IT and The Treatment Table.
Local running clubs also played a major role in the challenge, alongside volunteers who gave up their time throughout the weekend and staff from The Whitechapel Centre who helped coordinate the event and support participants.
The £5,233 raised so far will help The Whitechapel Centre continue its work supporting vulnerable people across Liverpool.
The charity provides a range of essential services, including housing advice, outreach support, health and wellbeing services and practical assistance to help people experiencing homelessness move towards independent living.
The success of Liverpool’s first 24 Hour Run Against Homelessness has already inspired plans for the event to return next year.
Organisers hope the next challenge will encourage even more runners, businesses and community groups to get involved, building on this year’s fundraising total and continuing the fight against homelessness in Liverpool.
