Avanti West Coast have trains leaving from Liverpool Lime Street twice every hour for the majority of the day, so it couldn’t be easier to get down to London for a big event.

It also couldn’t be cheaper, as Avanti West Coast offers up to 42% off when you book eight weeks in advance, or 70% off when you book 12 weeks in advance.

So let’s take a look at some of the major things happening in London this year, and you’ll be there in just two hours and 21 minutes with Avanti West Coast.

Chelsea Flower Show

Widely considered the world’s most prestigious gardening event, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show returns to the Royal Hospital Chelsea from 19 to 23 May 2026.

The show is a global trendsetter that blends elite artistry with royal heritage, earning it the nickname the “World Cup of Gardening” for its high-stakes design competitions and rare botanical displays.

Tickets are available exclusively through the official RHS website for the final three days, including the popular Friday “Chelsea Late”, open to the public.

Notting Hill Carnival

Bring all of your vibes and then some more as Europe’s biggest street party returns to West London from 29 to 31 August.

Bringing a massive explosion of Caribbean culture, sound systems, and vibrant costumes to the city.

While the main parades on Sunday and Monday are free and open to everyone, the Steel Band Competition on Saturday is a ticketed event that you’ll need to book via the official organisers.

It is an unmissable weekend of music and food that completely transforms the streets of Notting Hill.

BST Hyde Park

Taking place across several weekends in June and July 2026, BST Hyde Park brings the world’s biggest musical icons to the heart of London’s most famous park.

The 2026 lineup is packed with superstars like Garth Brooks, Maroon 5, and Lewis Capaldi, offering a festival atmosphere with top-tier production.

Tickets are available through AXS and Ticketmaster, with options ranging from general admission to luxury VIP terrace packages to get the best possible music experience.

Let your obsession with Olivia Dean’s new songs take over by going to see her in the flesh.

Following the release of her highly anticipated album The Art of Loving, Olivia Dean will perform her first-ever headline residency at The O2 Arena in April, May, and June 2026.

These shows are set to be a soulful celebration of her rise to stardom, featuring her signature blend of jazz-infused pop and heart-on-sleeve lyrics.

Boyzone

The iconic Irish boyband is reuniting for their massive “One For The Road” farewell shows at the Emirates Stadium on 5 and 6 June.

It’s a rare chance for fans to see the group perform their greatest hits in a stadium setting for what promises to be an emotional and high-energy goodbye.

Tickets and exclusive hospitality packages are available via Ticketmaster, including special hotel bundles for those who are coming from outside of London specifically for the trip.

Get your nostalgic boots on and don’t hide those tears when you wave Goodbye goodbye in the summer.

Bruno Mars

Global superstar Bruno Mars brings “The Romantic Tour” to Wembley Stadium for an incredible six-night residency in July.

Known for his electrifying showmanship and chart-topping hits, these shows will be the hottest tickets of the summer with a true plethora of great songs ready to be performed live.

Make sure you’re not locked out of heaven with a trip to the capital to see the only and only Mr Mars.

London Marathon

One of the biggest annual sporting events in London will be taking place on 26 April as the London Marathon will be underway.

As a World Marathon Major, the event attracts elite athletes and celebrities for a wonderful fundraising cause with a famous city centre route.

Whether you’re taking the challenge head-on or cheering on from the sidelines, it is a great chance to embrace the atmosphere whilst seeing the sights whilst the sun is beaming, with any luck.

Wimbeldon

Keeping up with the sports theme, The Championships, Wimbledon will be returning to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club from 29 June to 12 July.

The tournament sees the world’s elite players from across the globe compete on the iconic grass courts of London SW19.

It has been held annually since 1877, and it is, of course, viewed as the oldest and most prestigious of the four tennis Grand Slams.

Tickets are available through various channels, including the famous Queue and the public ballot, and premium hospitality packages or debenture seats are ready to buy to make the most out of the event for those hardcore tennis fans.

Moving away from tennis, the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race will return to the River Thames on Saturday 4 April, where the two historic universities will battle it out along the famous 4.25-mile Championship Course from Putney to Mortlake.

Later in the summer, the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will take centre stage in the capital from 12 June to 5 July, culminating in a spectacular final at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

With so much going on, you’d be rude not to have a cheeky look at booking something to look forward to, knowing that Avanti West Coast will take care of the journey.

Book with Avanti West Coast for the fastest direct journey from Liverpool to London from £26 with the option of Standard, Standard Premium and First Class.

Save up to 42% off when you book eight weeks in advance, or 70% when you book 12 weeks in advance, whilst enjoying the perks of a new stop at Liverpool South Parkway, free Wi-Fi and two trains every hour throughout the majority of the day.

You can book your train tickets now here.
