Liverpool PT Jay Standish offers free online programme in aid of cancer charity

PT Jay Standish from Hale Village is offering seven live workouts per week, four workouts with no equipment needed, a yoga session, 24/7 support, a diet plan and meal ideas and 150 pre-recorded workouts to catch up on for FREE.

The Liverpool personal trainer wants everyone to kickstart September the right way. From 6th September until 3rd October, he’ll be offering his popular Four Weeks Fit programme completely free.

Having helped more than 2000 people to date with the programme, Jay will provide seven live workouts per week, four workouts with no equipment needed, a yoga session, 24/7 support, a diet plan, meal ideas and recipes and 150 pre-recorded workouts to catch up on and it’ll be completely free of charge.

After losing his dad to cancer at just 15-years-old, Jay, now 27, understands only too well how devastating it can be for those suffering with the disease and their families.

Discovering his dad had a tumour in his leg which then quickly spread, came as a huge shock to Jay and his family and knowing that so many other families experience this same devastation, Jay wanted to find a way to support them.

Four Weeks Fit September will be completely free to take part in, all Jay asks is that anyone who can do so, donates to the Owen McVeigh Foundation; a charity that supports children with cancer in Merseyside and helps to make their dreams come true. Owen’s dad Mark and the team behind the Owen McVeigh Foundation also organise free holidays for children suffering from cancer.

He explained:

“Seeing someone that you love unwell is always a huge shock and I never thought that something like this would happen to me and my family. My dad was a huge fitness fan and so I’m taking September to do this month’s Four Weeks Fit for charity to honour him, whilst helping as many people as possible. I know this is something that he would be really proud of as family was everything to him. Supporting the Owen McVeigh Foundation in the process is really important to me; this charity is about helping those suffering and supporting their families during such difficult times and they provide money can’t buy moments that families can cherish forever.”

“It’s also National Fitness Day on 22nd September which is a great opportunity to get involved with Four Weeks Fit and do as little or as much as you can; the only thing that matters is that you get involved and feel fitter, healthier and happier when you finish the programme.

“Four Weeks Fit has transformed so many people’s lives already and I’m really proud to offer an online programme that actually gets the results my clients want, as well as supports them with their nutrition and health goals.

“There is no obligation to donate but if those signing up to Four Weeks Fit in September can donate even £1, I’d be so grateful as it’ll make a huge difference. All donations, no matter how big or small, will add up and help as many families as possible.”

Jay, who has been a Personal Trainer for three years, created Four Weeks Fit back in November 2020 when the UK was plunged into its second national lockdown. Leaving people without communal spaces to workout, Jay wanted to create an online programme that can be carried out anywhere at any time.

Jack Stead, a member of Four Weeks Fit, explained:

“I have always tried to go to the gym and get into a routine with my training and when the first lockdown hit, I got into a bit of a rut and didn’t know what to do in terms of training. I am not keen on running as I find it quite boring so when Jay informed me he was starting a Four Weeks Fit programme I was eager to get involved. It really is a great programme for every level, whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or you’re an experienced trainer.

Jay always gives you different variations of an exercise in his live sessions if you can’t complete the exercise planned, and also changes up the live sessions – some are body weight and then others are weighted kettlebell ones. He also posts different sessions on his page that you can try if you have the time or want that extra session. Even after lockdown finished, I continued with the programme because each month it gets better and more challenging and it feels like Jay is there pushing you on like in a personal training session. He is also very hands on and easy to contact.”
