This summer, Liverpool ONE is going to turn into a hub of sporting activity where visitors can enjoy the thrill and support their favourite teams and competitors on the big screen.

With a huge screen set up on Chavasse Park, the shopping and entertainment complex has been designated as an official Team GB and Paralympics GB Fan Zone for the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Arriving on Monday, July 1, the screen is a collaboration with Ocean Outdoor, Team GB & Paralympics GB’s Official Media Partner. The screen will give sports fans to watch Team GB & Paralympics GB compete in the biggest sporting event in history, as one of only nine official Fan Zones across the nation.

Wimbledon will be screened live in addition to the Olympic and Paralympic screenings; further live screenings of other major sporting events will soon be announced.

Donna Howitt, Place Strategy Director at Liverpool ONE, said:

“Sport brings people together in a way that nothing else can and at Liverpool ONE we work to create an environment where people come together to spend their leisure time. We are incredibly excited to be hosting an official Team GB & ParalympicsGB Fan Zone at Chavasse Park.

“This year is a summer of sports with an absolutely packed sporting events schedule, so we’re really looking forward to giving fans a place where they can come and cheer on their sporting heroes, grab a bite to eat and enjoy the outdoors.

“We’re hoping that Chavasse Park will become the go-to place to cheer on Team GB & ParalympicsGB this summer and, hopefully, watch them bring home plenty of medals!”

Liverpool ONE’s summer schedule includes the return of Chess Fest and Tickle the Ivories, along with other yet-to-be-announced activities.

Kevin Henry, head of content and sponsorship at Ocean Outdoor, said:

“Ocean has a track record for connecting audiences to the action in ways others can’t, entertaining audiences for the past nine years of both summer and winter competitions.

“Out of home (OOH) works because it brings people closer to the Games via impactful fan experiences, curated viewing areas, on screen content, broadcast highlights and updates from all the sporting action. For 2024, all of these opportunities are back, bigger and even better.
