Liverpool Cathedral announced in the top 10% worldwide visitor attractions – Tripadvisor

  • September 16, 2020
  • Editor

Liverpool Cathedral has been recognised in the top 10% worldwide visitor attractions by reviews on Tripadvisor, receiving the prestigious People’s Choice Award.

The award is based on consistently receiving great visitor feedback on Tripadvisor for a full year of reviews, before any changes caused by the pandemic.

Director of Enterprise, Paul Smith believes that such great reviews are due to the commitment the staff and volunteers have to making sure everyone who comes to see the Cathedral enjoys their visit.

He said:

“This prestigious award is a real testament to our brilliant staff and volunteers who work so hard to deliver the warm Liverpool welcome we strive for, with every person who comes through our doors. It is especially heartening that this global accolade comes from the reviews our visitors post on Tripadvisor and builds upon some of our recent successes: winner of the Liverpool City Region Large Visitor Attraction (2018) and our Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence for five successive years of excellent reviews, which we achieved in 2019.”

Adding:

“For those people who’ve never been to Liverpool Cathedral – or haven’t been for a while – I’m hoping this award will encourage people to come to visit us soon.”

Chris Brown, Director of Marketing Liverpool commented:

“Liverpool’s visitor offering is second to none and Liverpool Cathedral is a huge part of that. After such a difficult few months for the tourism industry and with more challenges to overcome in the future, it’s heartening to see the Cathedral be recognised in such a way. The award is well deserved, Liverpool Cathedral’s visitor welcome is always exceptional.”

“Winners of the 2020 Travellers’ Choice Awards should be proud of this distinguished recognition,” said Kanika Soni, Chief Commercial Officer at Tripadvisor.

“Although it’s been a challenging year for travel and hospitality, we want to celebrate our partners’ achievements. Award winners are beloved for their exceptional service and quality. Not only are these winners well deserving, they are also a great source of inspiration for travellers as the world begins to venture out again.”
