After a second lockdown hit nationally, Peasefield Road in Dovecot has brought festive cheer to the city region early!
Residents have decorated their houses with more than 35,000 bulbs and various Christmas decorations, making it an enchanting mini Blackpool illuminations.
The road has seen people travelling from miles to witness the Christmas lights, which has now seen Peasefield earn the recognition of ‘Liverpool’s most festive street’.
Frank McKenna of Peasefield Road has been decorating the street alongside with his neighbour Theresa Nutty over the years, but this year they decided to make it even more special to uplift peoples spirits due to the current circumstances.
During the first lockdown the street had organised street parties and games of Bingo, the money put together for a street party went towards Christmas lights due to the 2nd lockdown, with aims to cheer children of the street up.
The road has seen a few traffic jams of late, with many cars driving up and down the street once dark. Families from across the city are travelling from near and far to enjoy the festive spirit.
