Russell Gannon – Baltic Triangle Marketing Director said: “It’s been a difficult year for independent businesses in the area. The hospitality & Retail companies have been hit hard but have been trying to adapt to the current situation.
We also have a lot of freelancers, artists and creatives that have fallen through the cracks and not been able to claim any Government support. However, this initiative lets Liverpool know that collectively, we’re still here!”
The Baltic Triangle adapting to restrictions and lockdowns.
The Baltic Triangle is a city district that accommodates over 600 independent businesses. The companies trading in the area range from digital freelancers and creative companies to bars and restaurants. Many of which have had to ride out the restrictions with very little support to help them through. However, this has not stopped the community working together and providing solutions that help the various sectors.
We have seen the Lu Ban team help deliver the LID’s service which allows people to buy independent goods from their website. They have also created a new delivery service – Lu Ban Kitchen and this is now delivering pre-made food parcels nationwide.
Sewcial Mask is another idea that came out of 12 Jordan Street Studios. Founders, Tai and Verity contacted suppliers and volunteers to help manufacture and distribute FREE facemasks around Liverpool.
Brighter Design and the team behind Bongo’s Bingo developed solutions that manage hospitality bookings and social distancing in the form of Glug and Kwickqueue.
So the sense of community is still strong across the area and the Baltic Christmas Advent Calendar is another project that demonstrates how independent businesses can work together and make the very best out of a difficult situation.
