Free bubble workshops & a giant waterfront egg hunt heads to the Royal Albert Dock this Easter

Visitors to Royal Albert Dock this Easter can celebrate the arrival of spring by learning new skills, experiencing new exhibitions and tasting new flavours with Feed Your Mind spring edition.

Indulge in the dock’s array of chocolate sweet treats, become a master of bubbles with free workshops during half term, and take part in a dockside egg hunt to be in with the chance of winning a gigantic Albert Dock Easter egg, all here on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront.

Throughout the Easter holidays from 11th-18th April, keep youngsters entertained with the dock’s giant waterfront egg hunt for the chance to win Liverpool’s largest Easter egg, measuring at a whopping 33 inches. From 12pm on Monday, search for 10 different eggs hidden in the windows of the dock venues, each containing a letter to spell out a special phrase, with a couple of surprise locations thrown in.

Once all the eggs have been found, enter the phrase online to be in with a chance of winning the huge chocolate egg made from one of the region’s finest chocolatiers, Slattery, along with 10 runner up prizes of Roly’s Easter fudge also up for grabs. Pick up a map from selected venues, including The Nest and Red Run Activewear, or download a copy by visiting www.albertdock.com/feedyourmind from Monday.

Transforming The Grand Hall next-door to Peaberry Coffeehouse into ‘The Hutch’ with a colourful Easter makeover complete with huge pastel-coloured bunnies and flowers, little ones can become master of bubbles with a series of bubble blowing workshops. Taking place on 13th and 14th April with 10 sessions available in total, the workshops will be hosted by world record holder, Ray Bubbles, where children can learn the art of bubble making and even experience being inside their own giant bubble. The workshops are free and suitable for ages 6-12 years old, with tickets available to book at www.albertdock.com/news/become-a-bubble-performer-with-our-free-workshops.

With two weeks to fill with family fun, visitors can also head to Wild Shore which reopens for its new season on 9th April to brush up on their aqua skills, or try to beat the clock at Escape Hunt with an immersive adventure. Families can also experience life onboard the Titanic with Maritime Museum and their drop-in sessions marking its 110th anniversary, or get creative at Tate Liverpool’s Creation Station and make their own artwork worthy of being framed.

Easter holidays wouldn’t be complete without a selection of chocolate sweet treats, with the dock’s bars and restaurants offering a variety of mouth-watering dishes. From Maray’s melt in your mouth Chocolate Tart and Gusto’s new Chocolate & Biscoff Dough petals, to Smugglers Cove’s new Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, there’s something to satisfy every sweet tooth.

Plus for those looking for the ultimate luxury Easter egg, Lerpwl are making 100 limited-edition eggs containing tickets redeemable for 10% off your food bill, with one golden ticket exchangeable for a Tasting Menu for two, with the eggs available to buy directly from their website.

Visitors having a stroll around the Colonnades can also pick up a savoury or sweet treat on the go from one of the street vendors and ice cream vans, or pop by family-run bakery Rough Hand Made for one of their renowned White Chocolate Croissants.

Whether it’s for a fun-filled family day out, to indulge in a chocolate dessert, or to learn a new skill in bubble-making, the dock has everything needed for a memorable Easter break.
