Fiesta of Fire returns to the Royal Albert Dock with thrilling fire walk

The bigger and hotter-than-ever Fiesta of Fire is returning to Royal Albert Dock Liverpool in February.

Fiesta of Fire will return, bringing a display of light and fire to the Martin Luther King Jr. plateau. The event will feature choreographed fire shows and freestyle fire performers from Bring the Fire Project. As they display their pyrotechnics throughout the week, don’t miss stunning routines with a martial arts theme, sword fights that go all out, and more.

This year’s exciting fire walk opportunity will be available to visitors on Thursday, February 15. For the first time, firewalking comes to the dock. Take a waterfront stroll unlike any other and brave the hot coals. More than 1200°C will be experienced by those who want to test their bravery; only 70 spots are available via Eventbrite, first come, first served.

The dock will be the meeting place for people looking to take romantic pictures with their significant others on Valentine’s Day. Set pulses racing in Britannia Courtyard with unique selfie spots featuring flaming hearts from 6pm-8pm, in addition to choreographed fire shows and freestyle performers. After that, spend a romantic evening dining at some of Liverpool’s best restaurants by heading to Dockside. There is something to satisfy every appetite, including a special sharing menu at The Smugglers Cove, a tapas tasting menu in Lunyalita that includes live flamenco guitar music, and a sharing steak and champagne experience at Miller and Carter.

On Saturday, February 17, from 2pm to 6pm, viewers can marvel at the return of the three-meter-tall fire-breathing dragon, setting off a fiery finale. Savour a unique experience as the sky fills with roaring flames while strolling along Hartley Quay, around the dock and from the Martin Luther King Jr. Building. A Comic Con parade featuring a number of beloved superhero and television characters, such as those from Game of Thrones, will heighten the mood.

Discover Liverpool’s maritime history at the Maritime Museum and take advantage of free drop-in sessions that delve into the Titanic’s history if you have a week to spare with your family. The Beatles Story, the world’s largest permanent exhibition dedicated to Liverpool’s biggest band, also teaches you about the Fab Four’s rise to fame.

This half-term, the dock offers an exciting lineup of free family-friendly events that are perfect for late afternoon or early evening entertainment.
