SERIES TWO – EDITION THIRTY TWO
In the latest edition of our ‘Faces behind the Business’ series, we caught up with Alishia Thomas, Founder of M0ther; a brand dedicated to mums & mums to be on their journey to motherhood.
When did you first get into the industry?
I would probably say just after the birth of my first daughter. Being on maternity leave with no creative stimulation left me to my own devices. My first gifting company was created which then eventually to the birth of M0THER and everything it encompasses. I guess as I continue to grow as a mother so does my business.
How long have you worked at M0ther and what is your job role?
M0THER was first created in 2017, as I began my first freelance journey into Marketing. As a result of this M0THER HQ was born as we looked to fix the balance between work & motherhood with flexible working . Our first project was the creation of M0THER GIN and most importantly M0THER GIFTS, which provides the essentials for mums throughout all stages of her motherhood journey.
I love the fact that no day is ever the same, whether i am working with clients, working on new content, events, pop-ups, trialing new gin flavours, cocktails or onto the next product/ project for M0THER.
What is M0ther’s ethos?
It is definitely feminine, playful and bold. We are here to nurture, not only businesses but mothers & their babies too throughout their journey.
What’s the best bit of advice you could give to anyone looking at working in your line of work?
First & foremost believe in yourself and your business. Do everything with a passion as if your next paycheck, rent or mortgage payment dependended on it.
What do you love most about Liverpool?
It’s my home. It’s where i was born and my children have been born. I love the fact that no matter where in the world you are, someone always knows where Liverpool is!
If you could describe your business in 3 words, what would they be?
Just like our ethos, our business is bold, playful and feminine.
