easyJet announces new route from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Malta

easyJet has today announced it will launch a new year-round route between Liverpool and Malta. Flights will take off for the first time on 10th December 2024 and operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Sundays all year-round.

The new route to Malta will be the fourth the airline has added to its Liverpool network in the last 12 months, following new services being introduced to Enfida in Tunisia, Hurghada in Egypt and the Greek island of Corfu.

Famed for its beautiful coastlines, crystal clear waters and more that 3.000 hours of sunshine a year, Malta is an archipelago of islands situated in the heart of the Mediterranean steeped in rich history and offers plenty to explore whether for a cultural getaway, relaxing beach break or scuba diving adventure.

Package holidays to Malta are also available to book through easyJet holidays, with a mix of all-inclusive resorts from the 4* db San Antonio Hotel and Spa offering an array of facilities for the whole family, to adults-only luxury with the 4* Seaview Hotel located in St Pauls Bay. Enjoy panoramic sea views and sunsets from the rooftops infinity pool, plus an array of a la carte restaurants to dine in.

Commenting on the new route, Ali Gayward, UK Country Manager, easyJet, said:

“We are delighted to be announcing another new route from Liverpool, to Malta, providing our customers in the North West with even greater choice and connectivity to more of Europe’s best holiday destinations, all with great value fares and friendly service, and we look forward to welcoming them on board.”

Paul Winfield, Aviation Director for LJLA said:

“We are delighted to welcome this new service to Malta with easyJet – a destination that we know is popular with holidaymakers from across the Liverpool City Region and beyond.

With just 9% of all flights to Malta from the North West currently served from Liverpool, this route has significant opportunity to grow from here, with more passengers from across the North West now able to take advantage of all the benefits of jetting off on holiday to Malta from Liverpool.”

easyJet now bases seven aircraft at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, flying around 2 million passengers a year, offering up to 340 flights each week to 27 destinations.

easyJet was founded in the UK launching operations nearly 30 years ago and since then has flown over 800 million customers and is set to operate 100m annual seats this year. The airline now serves 21 UK airports offering over 500 routes from the UK to over 120 destinations in 30 countries across Europe and beyond.

easyJet holidays offers an extensive range of over 7,000 hotels to 100 destinations across both Europe and North Africa with travel dates available until the end of October 2025.

All easyJet holidays packages include flights, hotel, 23kg luggage and transfers on beach holidays, all covered by its Ultimate Flexibility, offering freedom to change a booking, a refund guarantee, and best price guarantee.
