For the Christmas season, the multi-award-winning musical SIX will be on stage at Liverpool Playhouse from Tuesday 6th December 2022 to Sunday 8th January 2023.

Fresh off its Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theatre Album, SIX’s songs have been streamed over 19 million times and the live performance of the show is described as one of the most uplifting pieces of British musical theatre in recent years that pushes boundaries and takes your breath away.

Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, two Cambridge University students who took SIX to the Edinburgh Fringe as a student show and it became a smash hit. SIX tells the personal stories of the six wives of Henry VIII, remixing five hundred years of historical heartbreak into an 80-minute celebration of 21st-century girl power. Six wives compete for the audience’s sympathy over who has been treated worst by Henry, who never appears in SIX.

The new touring Queens include Chlöe Hart (Hairspray, Shaftesbury Theatre; Kinky Boots, Adelphi Theatre; The Light In The Pizza, Royal Festival Hall/LA Opera/Chicago; and Wicked, Apollo Victoria) plays Catherine of Aragon. Jennifer Caldwell (American Idiot, UK, and Ireland Tour; Knights of the Rose, Arts Theatre; The Rhythm Method workshop, The Bush Theatre, and The Landor Space) plays Anne Boleyn and Jane Seymour is played by Casey Al-Shaqsy (Prince of Egypt, Dominion Theatre; Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, London Palladium; Once on this Island, Arts Educational; Newsies, Arts Educational). Jessica Niles (Madagascar the Musical, UK Tour; Angie in Our House, UK Tour & West End Live; Cinderella, South Hill Park) plays Anna of Cleves and Rebecca Wickes (Millennials, The Other Palace Studio; Heathers, UK Tour; Lead Vocalist for Dirty Dancing in Concert, UK Tour) plays Katherine Howard. Catherine Parr is played by Alana M Robinson who was professionally trained in United State and started her performing career recently, along with Super Swing Harriet Caplan-Dean, Grace MelvilleLeesa Tulley and Natalie Pilkington (Dance Captain) will be joining the cast as Alternates. The cast is backed by the show’s all-female band, The Ladies in Waiting. Co-directed by Lucy Moss and Jamie Armitage, featuring choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille

Actor Jennifer who plays Anne Boleyn in SIX said:

“Having previously covered all the roles and had the opportunity to tell all those women’s amazing stories, to be able to play the iconic Anne Boleyn and fill the iconic boots of the incredible humans who have played her before is a dream come true. I want audiences to take away the message that we are all enough on our own! We don’t need to be defined by anything other than who we are!”

SIX brings a big, shiny, glitzy 90’s style girl gang along with a distinct strand of exuberant pop music telling history to the show. This show provides entertainment and gives you a chance to express yourself with pop music, and it lets you see yourself represented onstage.

SIX The Musical is at the Liverpool Playhouse from Tuesday 6 December to Sunday 8 January 2023. Tickets priced from £10 to £45 are selling fast. Book now at http://www.everymanplayhouse.com/whats-on/six
